http://www.arsenal-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=118162 Arsene Wenger has been named Barclaycard Manager of the Month for August. He is the only manager who has maintained a 100% record so far this season, winning all four games in August. Past receipients of the award have been cursed, with the form of their respective teams going completely out of the window, so let's hope it doesn't affect us during September (especially with the visit to Old Trafford looming next weekend!). The Barclaycard Awards Panel said: "Despite the focus of attention on their west London neighbours, Arsene Wenger has shown the usual gritty determination to leave others in his wake in August. There have been two big summer signings at Arsenal, re-negotiating contracts with Pires and Vieira. That done, things look very promising for the long season ahead."
Bring em on! This is great news. While Chelsea and Man Utd have got all the press, we have slipped to the top of the table (where we belong). We really have been tight on cash and still have a very good side. I still believe that The Arsenal are not totally fit and it scares me (as it should the rest of the league) when our offense really starts clicking.
So what Brodo said is that this is the Premier League equivalent to being on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I think that it's a great thing. We don't have the lights, the cameras flashing, but we still got our best start since the 1947/48 season. Let's hope our boys keep it up. Come on you Gunners!!! Rien mais le Treble! OPArsenal
The Manager Of The Month award has been a curse for as long as I remember. The other thing that seems to strike us is other teams changing their manager just before we play them. even with the unlucky charm we should have enough to beat Portsmouth tomorrow.
