Will any MLS team have a third jersey? (So the teams could have the 1st jersey, 2nd jersey, and 3rd jersey like alot of other teams around the world have).

Rapids have a third. The home is blue and black striped, the away is all white, and the third strip is all black.

The Crew have a 3rd shirt. It is a "charcoal" grey with orange-ish stripes on it. It's the same sort of model as their black kit (and all current adidas kits for that matter).

God I hope LA don't have one, their home and away are bad enough. Nike would really make something ugly for a 3rd if given the chance. :p

Before the official release, I saw a picture of a Galaxy jersey in white (with yellow and green stripes). It looked far better than either of the current ones. I doubt it would happen, but it would make a good third kit.

We do do that every year but we're supposed to get a 3rd at some point this season.

It's slated to be light blue and be worn with white shorts, following the colors of the Chicago city flag.

    DC: No Third Jersey

I read (no link) a few weeks ago that this year there would only be the black and the white jerseys for DC United--no third jersey.

I wonder if it looks like the 2nd jersey my favorite club Benfica (from Portugal) wears?

I didn't know how to get the picture of the jersey on the message, so here's a link to it. (its somewhere in the middle of the page)

Since I can't find the bigsoccer code page (not even in a search), I guess I can't post an image. But here is a link to what I am talking about:

It's a shame they couldn't just get a long-sleeve jersey for Freddy, though.

I really like that Benfica Alternate. I've advocated adopting the mantles of NASL clubs when warranted and "Aztecs" was one of my favorites. If the Galaxy ever did change their moniker, I would use Benfica's as a model for the Aztecs' third shirt. The home would be orange with black trim/ shorts and the away would be white with orange trim and black shorts.

In fact I saw one yesterday while at the local rec center. Some guy was wearing an authentic #7 Eddie Johnson jersey, complete with Frosted Flakes patches.

I think you'll see both changed eventually. I guess it takes a long time, there's a lot of red tape involved.

And there’s always the chance for a nostalgia night. Not exactly a third jersey, but still a change.

The shorts still have the wave. The other logo (circle) has been around since the beginning.

I wish the Rev's had a first jersey!

UMBRO doesn't feel like supplying any merchandise. Should they ever get around to it, I'd like to see the Rev's in red. I've always liked the history and rationale behind the creation of the Arsenal uniform. White sleeves and shorts to set apart the red body. Hoop socks to attract attention.

i think it'd be a bit dumb them being called revolution and wearing red-- the whole name and obvious connection to the revolutionary war, one in which we fought "red coats", so i don't like the red jersey idea.

Ugh, hoop socks are a bad idea.

Thankfully my beloved AFC after persisting with them for the better part of 120 years looks to have finally given them up for good.

Made the players look like giant candy canes!!

The whole idea of the hoop socks were not for looks (obviously), but for player to player identification. At the time, all players wore white socks.....the hoop socks made the team stand out.
