Never read ANYTHING from NOTW. Doesn't mean there isn't some truth there, but I wouldn't base anything on anything written in NOTW

What I would say is if Mr. Wenger actually said this his job would be on the line as a result.

I want Podolski or Benzema. I think they could fill the void of Adebayor leaving.

See I don't get the Podolski thing....I just don't see him being an effective player for an entire season. Yeah, he rises to the big game occasion but seems a bit of a mental midget in the sense that he does not necessarily bring his A-game for the "rest of the league" games.

That's the other reason I tend not to believe it...

Regardless as to if Ade is in fact transfered out, I still see it unlikely that Arsene spends nearly 2/3 of the transfer revenue on an incoming player. More likely we would end up with another solid player with promise rather than someone with the established pedigree of KJH.

I'm intrigued about the thought of Martins linking-up with us...tell me why he wouldn't be a good replacement for EA25? Commence benign, subversive footy talk on this Martins fellow - on my mark; now, now, now...

They've already tried this and he was less than impressive!

I really don't get why people do not think highly of Martins. The man is a monster, and on a team that consistently provides service (like ours), I think Martins would flourish.

Imagine if Ade went to Newcastle from Monaco. The man would not be on anyone's radar today. Ade is great, because Arsenal is great.

There is something to be said of Arsenal football. With the right players and team mentality, we can beat anyone.

Wenger: Arsenal are a selling team - now with added made up quotes!

Well, not only have Arsenal fans begun to smell the coffee they've noticed some's been spilt as well - you're slowly losing momentum (Newcastle are courting American backing) a top 4 position will be more diffcult each year with maybe 6-8 genuine contenders.

Hmmm. I hope we don't wait until the very last day of the summer to make our transfers this year. Granted, that still gets the players in, but it'd be nice to have any new signings in training with the other guys.

'Arsene Wenger has said Arsenal need to sell every year and buy less expensive players to replace them in order to pay the club's £24m-a-year bill for the Emirates Stadium. (News of the World)'

Someone needs to sue NOTW.. This is absurd

What is absurd is that the club with the 3rd highest revenue in football is a selling club.

This NOTW article has to be completely bogus. Why would Wenger, who's usually very tight-lipped about his approach, spill the beans to one of London's most notorious tabloids? This stuff is planted, probably by Adebayor's agent.

Just because we're not hemorraging money for overhyped players during every transfer period doesn't mean Arsenal aren't committed to winning.

I have little doubt that he said it... These papers don't make up quotes as much we think - especially for someone they have to interview every week of the season.

I think for sure that they are adding their own little emphasis to this idea that "Arsenal will be selling all their good players for two decades!" but it sounds exactly like something Arsene would say.

As for "hemorraging money," as always this presents an alternate extreme so as to distract from the more preferable medium.

No question...it's been a real fire sale this season...wait a tick...

Again, this is a stupid example of presenting the extreme to distract from the real point.

There hasn't been a fire sale, but we have the transfer policy of a selling team. We sell established players and replace them with unestablished players and then when those players become established, we will sell them too.

Why would Wenger make comments that would be the most damaging thing to come out about the team in recent memory?

What kind of message would that be to the players he is coaching? "Hey guys, lets pull together and win something this year to increase your value before we get rid of you at the end of the season".

We might as well sell everyone, close up shop and rent out the stadium, because if that were true Wenger would be wasting his time, the player's time and the fan's time.
