C’mon , the announcer even explained it for you “he doesn’t even touch the ball with his hands”!!

seriously, I’m guessing that in real time the R couldn’t tell if it was past the magic armpit line, and the VAR didn’t think it was C&O that it was. From that angle it sure looks like it is, but another angle might make it more (or less) clear. Another example of why the armpit line is silly.

Sure looked like it was above the recently well-defined armpit line

"Now there's something you don't see everyday, Vern...."

During my game yesterday, I give a free kick to the black team, right at the 20 yard line. (Field also marked for gridiron football.) White defenders are at the 10 yard line and pointing at the ground. I'm thinking they're asking if they are at the right place for their wall. I tell them yes, that's 10 yards. Black takes the kick and it goes out for a goal kick. The players then insist that I come look at what they're pointing to. "It's a knife!" There is a switchblade there in the turf. I carried it off the field and discarded it, but I've never found a knife on the field before.

Sounds like somebody didn’t fully inspect the field before the game. I know an old assessor that would fail you for that.

Yeah, probably so. To be honest, it was kind of embedded in the sewn in line which had a little depression at that point.
The start of the game was a little abnormal, since there was a men's game just before it, which was terminated after a major injury to a player. Possible broken sternum from a high kick. We stood around for a quarter of an hour or so, just waiting for an ambulance to show up.

Really not sure where to put this. Watching Qatar vs Uzbekistan World Cup qualifier (AFC) and see an on-field recommendation for DOGSO... on-field decision was yellow.

Referee goes to monitor and takes maybe 20 seconds and sticks with yellow. What am I not seeing that something else thought this would be a DOGSO? For context, the player at top clearly pulls the white player's shoulder.

That still picture doesnt tell the story of how fast the players are. The ball is moving to goal as are the players and the white player is being held back. If the white player is moving twice as fast as the red players, its headed to DOGSO. If its the same speed its SPA.

Weka you know we can’t judge a DOGSO vs. SPA based on a still image, give us the clip if you’ve got it

He really wasn't. Same speed or negligible difference. I'll try to get video.
