really nothing much but i have to bring this up: do the korean fans need to scream like little 13 year old girls at an N*SYNC concert every single time hong myung-bo touches the ball? jesus.
hey i love noise like the rest of them... it is just the high-pitched "n*sync" screams that drive me nuts.
Things I Hate So Far This Season 1. The Galaxy all white kits (or any other all white team for that matter) 2. "Columbus Crew" written across the front chest of our yellow kits (the black kit, is a different story) 3. Watching vicious fouls not receive cards (DC vs. Fire- Beasley, Revs vs. Crew- Franchino not getting red for tackle against Martino) 4. Dragon Stadium 5. MLSgear.com
1. Hacking good players with either no call, or just a call. (Beasley and Martino really got hacked up today.) 2. So called 'professional' fouls that slow down the attack. Like we need that. 3. Stalling when the other team has a free kick. If I wanted to watch people standing around jawing at each other, I'd watch the NFL. Anyway, I'm glad the season has finally started. There's a lot more things that I like than dislike. It's just easier to list these few things.
Fouling is part of the game and has always been part of the game, so therefore I don't agree with the constant foul yellow card.
Dragon Stadium gives me a headache. Why can't San Jose be on T.V? Let's see, I've seen L.A. twice, DC twice, Colombus twice... I Want To See Landon Donovan. Landon. Donovan. You know, the posterboy of american soccer. Yea, that guy. Landon Donovan. On T.V.
Too many times the away teams have played bunker ball. This causes drab games. Like the DC game tonight. It seems like most away teams just try to squeeze out an ugly tie.
Re: Things I Hate So Far This Season 1. i like all white unis. especially LAs. 2. i like the crews unis as well. 3. agree. refs seem to get increasingly gutless w/ every passing season. 4. agree. 5. agree.
Re: Things I Hate So Far This Season The all-white kit is a lot better than the gold/mustard one they have. I'm hating the OT sessions so far because they're short and not much is being accomplished.
Ya know, you sound like you might be a twelve year-old girl wanting her teeny-bop fix, but I have to agree with you. If Donovan is supposed to be the poster boy for american soccer, doesn't it make sense to promote him and have him visible? I wonder if this has to do with Yallop's comments that Donovan was stretched too thin last year?
1. Write FIFA and ask them to change the Laws. 2. Why am I not surprised that you get more excited by fouls than watching skilled players perform?
Of course! Landon is the center of the future of American soccer. He can compeat with players with high class (RE: World Cup) and he is only 22 (i think?). It took Reyna and Sanneh a lot longer to be up there. We are lucky he is playing in the MLS, people like him, he has talent, the poster boy thing. I'm suprised no foreign teams have grabbed him yet. Seriously, get this Clint Mathis and whoever else you are showing on T.V. out. San Jose, L.A., and Colombus should be shown on T.V. the most, they are good to watch. And would someone please sign Freddy Adu to San Jose.
ummm... do you not know the landon deal!? =-o... we'll he's on loan to us and his contract is with bayer leverkuson (sp?)
1. Referees - They are just crap. I don't understand why they have to be this bad. Everybody expects refs to make mistakes during a game but it's as if they don't see anything. Very frustrating. How did Ryan Nelson and Dema Kovalenko escape that game last night without at least a yellow??? 2. The wite kits don't really bother me all that much, but I definately would prefer a first kit, 2nd kit system. If one team is in Black there is no reason for the other not to wear red etc.
1. Paul "unfrozen caveman soccer announcer" Caliguri. 2. Hearing Jack "mine eyes have seen the glory" Edwards doing a credible, professional job of announcing the NHL playoffs, and wondering "why was he such a dork when announcing MLS?"
He didn't do too bad on the Fire/DCU game either. He kept away from any ridiculous stories or lame cliches. It's all TY KEOUGH's fault.
He also kept away from coherent diction, complete sentences, and thoughtful analysis. The day Alexi Lalas retires, to claim his rightful place as THE soccer color man, should be a national day of celebration.
1)Referees, nothing new, they ruin games. 2)Overtime, nothing new, it ruins games. 3)Play acting, skinny ass twirps like Demarcus Beasley who fall over when a slight breeze blows. Toughen up son, or get off the pitch. 4)Seeing Eddie Pope in a Metroscum kit, still a bit sick over that one.
