    I think it's more a matter of justifying why they feel the need to bash the sport rather than merely ignore it if they don't like it. There's really no need to justify a personal taste.

    Of course. That's what I meant, in case I wasn't clear. If someone simply doesn't like soccer, they don't like it. But the "ohhh, it's a Eurotrash commie sport played by pussy liberals, and I can't abide that" is a justification for their unreasonable virulence.
