    Enough. Stop trolling.
I've done enough providing actual dictionary and urban dictionary.
Mod, please do something about these trolls.

And guess what? I don't own any guns. I favor stronger gun control.

That, however, doesn't really have anything to do with the conversation though, does it?

And you kinda proved yourself wrong with that...

That's not a real dictionary. You do know that, right?

I don't think that would work out the way you think.

Because we all know #3? and that's the whole point.
There could be confusion among 1 2 and 3 according to the dictionary , hence I used the term USian.

I demonstrated that the actual dictionary has several meanings on American.
I used a word caused by that which is not in actual dictionary yet, but is in urban dictionary which means that it's used in this country although still minority. You didn't know the word, so I introduced it to you. Now you know what it means. If you don't like it, don't use it. Move on.

Quit being dense. You're using an artificial word and everybody knows it.

This is an American-based site, in American English. Everybody here knows what "American" means. Saying so doesn't mean we all look down on other residents of the Western Hemisphere.

You're just looking for things to be outraged about and excuses to feel persecuted.

One of which is a citizen of the United States of American. I demonstrated that an actual dictionary had no meaning for a word you try to use.

Urban Dictionary defines "Canuckistani" as someone from Canada. Does that mean it's legitimate?

I knew what the word meant. I've called you out on it before. I simply wanted to do it again.

As the moderator pointed out, quit being dense.

Awww...I missed the jaunty "gun" tangent of this conversation and now I haz a sad. Where does someone who doesn't own any guns but nevertheless believes that they are nothing to fear and whose ownership of which are an absolute liberty on par with Amendments 1-8 as individual, inviolate rights?

To be specific, most people who hate something unimportant like a sport are not secure about their or others’ distinctiveness and immeasurable significance. If they are aware of these truths, then they’ve chosen to be a ‘hater’.

So, even though #3 is by far the most common usage in worldwide English, you decided to substitute in an "acro-term-nym-thingy" (rather than a word) that could just as easily be used to describe Mexicans or Indonesians?

Hey, I'm a gun owner who thinks we'd be better off without the Second Amendment. It takes all kinds.

You and I can surely agree that that was one weird tangent in a futsal thread. ;)

Oh, right--this is the "Things Americans say about soccer" thread.

In my defense, a lot of the threads in this forum get "blended". Because USians are fat and too stupid to realize that nobody likes other sports.

exec's have liked Soccer all along the demographics are great (young, more affluent, higher educated, more urban) then some of the sports with bigger viewership figures. Part of the reason IMHO why you get some of dislike from professional sportscasters. Having said that I think it is much less then it used to be.

Well ESPN has definitely halted the brakes on their sportscasters because they're starting to show more and more soccer on ESPN. It goes back to old resentment towards immigrants all the way through McCarthy.

I am what many people on this board call a "Eurosnob" and even I think this is the dumbest idea ever. Most people who grew up in the US call the sport Soccer not football or futbol.

We don't usually call it "football" because we already have a unique domestic sport called FOOTBALL. This is not just an American thing. It's the same situation in Australia, and Ireland.

As for futbol, that would be appropriate if you are having a Spanish conversation. But if you are having an English conversation then why use the Spanish word? It is appropriate to use the Spanish word if there is no English equivalents but there already are English words for the sport. So yeh not a good idea and makes no sense.

    Unless of course your trolling?
