We know that they want to kills us all. However, political correctness prevents us from having the same response. "Well, it might offend some people."
Well, darn it too bad. I am pretty well offended by the WTC attack and the Bali blasts.

I can only assume by "they" that you mean the Islamic Army of Aden, right? Surely you're not referring to all Muslims?

I'd call the DC cops and tell them to stop you from going out and burning down your local mosque and beating up any "Ay-rab lookin' furriner types" you happen to come across but they're a bit busy right now...

Not sure about Arabs, but Muslims make up appx. 2-3% of the US population, mostly living in Michigan, New Jersey, and New York. No idea how many of these are actually Arabs, altho most of the Muslims I know are Pakistanis.

Well there's a difference between us and these morons. We could actually kill them all (or at least come close) with nuclear weapons. They don't have the same ability that we do, so it makes them sound pathetic when they speak like this. If we wanted to, we could end the existance of most of the world's population in less than an hour.

    According to this site

    Islam 101

There are between 5 and 8 million. That is about 2-3% of the population in America.

    From the article:
The easiest way to understand is, again, to take them at their word. Bassam Tibi, a Muslim professor at Göttingen University in Germany, gave an interesting speech a few months after 11 September: ‘Both sides should acknowledge candidly that although they might use identical terms these mean different things to each of them,’ he said. ‘The word “peace”, for example, implies to a Muslim the extension of the Dar al-Islam — or “House of Islam” — to the entire world. This is completely different from the Enlightenment concept of eternal peace that dominates Western thought.’ Only when the entire world is a Dar al-Islam will it be a Dar a-Salam, or ‘House of Peace’. The objective isn’t a self-governing Palestine but the death of the West.

Yep, and I'm pretty sure that most of the Muslims in the Detroit area, at least, are Arabs.

Re: Re: Re: They Want to Kill Us All

It's not the article, it's the following insinuation that all Mulsims want to kill all Americans.

It's also the predictable reaction in some quarters that we must hate and therefore go on a Crusade to kill all Muslims.

The hatemongers on both sides are pathetic.

I do like how we're supposed to "take them at their word," yet the part about the "death of the West" was the author's wording, not the person he stopped quoting two sentences previously.

Interesting that you selected this quote when there were so many others at your disposal:

"Hijacking Planes, terrorizing innocent people and shedding blood constitute a form of injustice that can not be tolerated by Islam, which views them as gross crimes and sinful acts." Shaykh Abdul Aziz al-Ashaikh (Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Senior Ulama, on September 15th, 2001)

The terrorists acts, from the perspective of Islamic law, constitute the crime of hirabah (waging war against society)." Sept. 27, 2001 fatwa, signed by: Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi (Grand Islamic Scholar and Chairman of the Sunna and Sira Countil, Qatar), Judge Tariq al-Bishri, First Deputy President of the Council d'etat, Egypt, Dr. Muhammad s. al-Awa, Professor of Islamic Law and Shari'a, Egypt, Dr. Haytham al-Khayyat, Islamic scholar, Syria, Fahmi Houaydi, Islamic scholar, Syria, Shaykh Taha Jabir al-Alwani, Chairman, North America High Council

"Neither the law of Islam nor its ethical system justify such a crime." Zaki Badawi, Principal of the Muslim College in London. Cited in Arab News, Sept. 28, 2001.

"It is wrong to kill innocent people. It is also wrong to Praise those who kill innocent people." Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Pakistan. Cited in NY Times, Sept. 28, 2001.

Re: Re: Re: Re: They Want to Kill Us All

But some Muslims do want to kill all Americans. There's a big difference between people willing to die in the name of Allah in a terrorist act and a bigot blowing off steam on Big Soccer. Surely, you can see that.

... not to say that hatemongers don't possibly exist in the Defense Dept. where decisions on the official American reaction might be made.

Subsitute "Christians" for "Muslims" and "Arabs" for "Americans," "Allah" for "God" and the sentence is still true. Surely you're not suggesting that Muslims are the only ones capable of perpetrating terrorist acts?

Re: Re: Re: Re: They Want to Kill Us All

I didn't get that impression either from the article or from Colin's post (or anyone else's on this thread). "They" quite clearly referred to Muslim terrorists.

Agreed. The big difference is that I don't remember the last Christian suicide bombing, and no-one with any credibility among Christians at large wants to establish a worldwide Christian state. (I'm sure this is where you will bring up the Holy Roman Empire, blissfully ignoring the fact that about 800 years have passed since it ruled anything close to all of Europe)

Of course not, but no non-Muslim group has, AFAIK (and correct me if I'm wrong), ever perpetrated a terrorist act on anything like the scale of 9/11 or the Bali attack. Not in the last 100 years anyway.

Are the "Christians" who shoot abortion doctors terrorists? I put "Christians" in quotes because I'm sure most followers of the teachings of Christ would not condone these actions (much like most followers of the teachings of Mohammed would not condone flying planes into buildings)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: They Want to Kill Us All

And no Muslim group had done it either before 9/11. What's your point?

And re: the Bali attack, I don't really want to argue scale with you, but I'm pretty sure the IRA has bombed people before. Does the fact that one of their bombs maybe killed "only" 10 people make it a less heinous act than one that killed 100? 200? Where do we decide degrees?

Not to step in the middle of this but you are wrong:

Bombing of Marine Barracks in Lebanon
    Munich Olympics
    Achille Lauro
    Numerous Flights
    etc.

Islam is not exclusive to terrorism against innocents, but it certainly seems to have the monopoly on it for about 35 years.
