1. he is still young. 2. he is still talented. 3. he needs to play for BVB or someone else and must happen asap (to insure call up for the WC). Seems at this point it is up to Gio staying healthy, showing well in training, and taking his chances when he earns them (at whatever club he is playing for). Does it matter where he picked up his injuries in the grand scheme?

I think the sooner we, and he, realize that he is NOT going to play any considerable minutes or extended period for BvB, the better. I think the past season has made that clear. If he does not move on this season, one can't help but wonder if the health issues are still not fully resolved, and he and his team are happy to stay put and ride bench, because the alternatives are not as good. Hopefully that is not the case, but questions have to be asked if he stays there for 2025-2026 and does not play.
I'm trying to interpret Reyna's expression. Do we think he's trying to send a message? If so, to whom? And what is the message? I'll hang up and listen.
I was responding to freisland's lament about how Gio's career has gone awry. Also, I think constantly getting injured on national team duty is a problem for Gio finding a good club situation. I've got to be believe that Dortmund are super frustrated that this player, who a few years ago they valued at ~€50 million, is now worth less than €10 million due to a series of injuries he's picked up not even playing for them. If I'm a club thinking about paying millions in transfer fees and then millions more in salary to a player who is constantly getting injured on national team duty I'm going to take that into consideration when I'm deciding if I want them. As to your 3 points: 1- I wouldn't consider Gio a "young" player any more.Even with his limited minutes he's still got a moderate amount of experience playing in the 1.Bl and ECL. He should be in his prime at this point. 2- I think Gio is talented but I'm not sure what type of player he is and I think he does have at least one major physical limitation. I don't know if he's a player who can score and create goals on a regular basis like everyone thought he would be when he turned pro. In terms of strengths I am confident he possesses I think his first touch and close ball control are quite good, his passing both in terms of weight and accuracy are also very good and he's tall and pretty strong (when he was at Forest I noticed several times where he held the ball under physical challenges from central defenders). I terms of his minus I think he is lacking in quickness / acceleration which is a big problem for managers who want to win the ball through midfield pressing. Most ball winning in midfield is done over short distances which makes a quick first step really useful. Dortmund don't really do it but when I saw him try to press at Forest the ball was long gone by the time he got to the man. So if he is able to score and create goals then great, there are a lot of good clubs in top leagues who will want him. If not then he becomes more of a deep lying mid who cycles the ball around. That requires he be on a team that has a lot of possession. 3- I agree 100% that he needs to move to a club where the manager wants him and he will at least get an run of 8-10 games as a starter to prove himself, which based on the last three seasons at Dortmund isn't happening there. If I were him the World Cup wouldn't even enter my mind.
They do, but that is the training kit. and it is10000% better than the actual kit. EDIT: Wait...you mean the state. LOLOL
I still think he is young as a player - not that many miles on his legs - he is a whole lot younger than Tim Ream - and I am old. Ergo he is young. I have seen enough to assess he is talented - I don’t know what is going on with him physically. The physical situation gets determined when he plays (or does not play regularly). I think we agree Gio needs to play regularly somewhere to resolve his situation.
Is that Jobe Bellingham, Dortmund's $35M new pu$$y? "He's clearly in rhythm, having played further into the season. He's a good kid - very open, but also possesses a winning mentality, the right discipline and professionalism," said Kehl. "Jobe has already made his mark in training during the first few days. That's why we're glad to have completed the deal before the Club World Cup. https://bulinews.com/dortmund-boss-raves-jobe-bellingham-has-already-made-mis-mark
I've been saying that Dortmund missed a great opportunity to feature Reyna in NYC ... ... but maybe I spoke too soon.

not starting ... and will therefore not watch either .... they are starting their 1st choice lineup ... I wonder how the Tuesday noon attendance in humid NJ in late June looks to be. haha.
Part of Gio's dip in valuation is his injury history, for sure, but a big chunk can be attributed to Dortmund's mismanagement. Last year, Gio was excellent in his sub appearances, changing games and contributing on the score sheet, but he never got a run of chances to start. This year has also been a joke. Dortmund has played better when he was on the pitch than when he was off, but he got no real chances this year, either. If they don't rate him and won't play him, fine, but they can't complain about his valuation when they haven't given him a fair shot on the pitch.
DNP in the first match, which is a 0-0 draw in the 89'. The most surprising sub for me was both Gittens and Chuk, as Chelsea is seemingly using an extension of Chuk's loan as leverage for the ongoing Gittens transfer
