It could be the same type of run that Barca used to give Dest in preseason. No matter what the situation is, Gio needs to be focused and impactful in these limited minutes regardless of where he ends up.
Wouldn't it be risky for him to stay there? Didn't the club publicly announce that he was surplus goods and he needed to find a new team? Or was that Mckinney? If he wastes another 3-6 months, it really might affect his chances for the WC roster.
Does a club ever "publicly announce" stuff like that? Personally, I took the report with a grain of salt.
I don't know if it was the club, probably not, but there were a few social media accounts that are pretty spot on with BVB "unofficial" neews that named like half the club saying these players were OK to negotiate with other clubs. Adeyemi, Fullkrug, Malen, Haller, Sule among several others including Gio that were on that list. Heck, you could put together a full 11 with that list that a manager like Klopp could probably tale to a CL SF.
Not enough negativity around here the last couple of weeks. You guys are slipping. Come on, everyone knows Gio is a total head case and at 21 years of age, a total has been.
An American just scored in this match and it's ... Obinna Iloka? 1824858041247846518 is not a valid tweet id
Iloka has a fascinating story, from the Nigerian diaspora leagues to the defunct ASL, passing through amateur years in the UPSL, participating in the African Community Cup in the Northeast and the All-Nigeria Tournament in California, to the Greek third division. Guy must have lived through some rough times to keep playing the sport he loves. He's 30 now though, a defender.
This is why some of us saying staying at Dormund rather than taking a ---- loan like NF was absolutely the necessary choice. ---- Dortmund, get the hell out of there. He sacrificed another year via extension to get that dumb --- loan to nowhere and now he's stuck for another year putting up with this horse ----. Idiotic. Shouldn't listen to another word his dad says about his career the rest of his sporting career life, and get better agents while he's at it. Now he could be stuck there until WC '26. Just horrific.
Not a great sign obviously. I'm thinking he is primarily viewed as Brandt's backup. Which isn't helpful if Brandt goes 90 minutes most games. Dortmund have lots of depth, most of their attack is good but not great. Would love it if he got a shot in a wide attacking role some time but I'm not too optimistic. Hopefully can get a run of games at some point before the winter break. If not I'm sure he'll push for another loan in January. A move is still possible this window of course...
Yeah this thought did cross my mind as a possibility. The thought that this will be a repeat of last year also did.
