Would be nice if 1-2 of those guys get sold to free up less competition for Gio. I think we were speculating Adeyemi would be even though Gio may ultimately be best at the 8/10.

Low-key masterpiece? I thought he had good intensity and effort but what did you see that leads you to “masterpiece”

They want to sell him but won't find anyone to pay the transfer fee plus his wages, and it's even unlikely they find a place to loan him because of the wages, so they're stuck with him. I think he plays, does well, and next summer they still want to sell him anyway.

Doesn't really make sense to fly out for a day, does it?

I didn't know the Dortmund fans hated him so much. The replies sent me down a rabbit hole.

LOL...I don't bother with replies on Twitter. Most people that reply to that shit are negative keyboard warriors to begin with.
My understanding from the Tweet is he never went to Asia and will just go to Germany from the US. Did I miss something?

Maybe I missed something. I read somewhere that he was supposed to join them in Asia today. So I thought he may have already gone.

From what I gathered, there was only a match left so he stayed behind. I saw they also canceled another match vs Chengdu Rongcheng so not sure the tour is going as planned.

It’s being reported that Gio is out at Dortmund. Dortmund is moving on without him.

Is Claudio still in MLS? I would think that Gio will land in MLS.

This was reported weeks ago, which made it surprising when his name was included on the Asian tour roster. But alas it must have been true after all.

If he can leave Dortmund for MLS money, then he will have suitors in Europe.

I dont think he is leaving for money. Thats not the right frame of reference for this.

    He got axed.

He'll need to pick up the pieces and move on and hopefully learn from the past 4 years.

This should put him in jeopardy with the national team as well.

Sky Sports reported today that the team has replaced him and that they are done with him.

Not if his national team performances remain at a high level.

They were not at a high level at the Copa and he is not getting minutes with a club.

He's in jeopardy. Red flags abound for 2026.A serious international coach would not trust him. His biggest advocate, Berhalter, is gone.

The national team needs to move on from players who are not in form and who are not getting experience at their clubs.

    I'm shocked.

    SHOCKED, I tell you!!!

Ok, with that out of the way, is there gonna be some sort of re-entry draft or other machination to get him into MLS?

Hes got 2 club managers at BVB that don't rate him, he stoopidly failed to respect the club, and he failed to impress at a loan assignment to a relegation struggler. He also has his mommy and daddy fight his battles for him publicly and he was nearly sent home from the WC. Did I miss anything?

I mean, what club WOULDN'T fall all over themselves to sign such a gem?

I think him failing at Forest, plus him failing at BVB whenever there also weren't Haaland and Bellingham on the pitch with him may make his level of quality a question at this point.

Add into it all the stupidity on his part and all the baggage, and who would actually want that?

    I think he's MLS bound.

I wish a team like Ajax or Porto would take a chance if Dortmund doesn't ask for too much. A big team in a second tier league where the style of play suits his best attributes.
