Really bad passing. Hope it was the soft field. They where lucky to get a point. Lisi should of tackled the guy on Columbus first goal instead of backing off. Maybe Galvan will start next game?

I think ,the Metros play like that just to make Tim look good for his new job!

Yeah it was hard to believe that the team we watched vs. Columbus has won any games, nevermind 5 in a row. I too would like to see more of Galvan, based on how the team played last night (Sat.) after he came on.

Metros were lucky to come away w/ a point. They had no clue as to how to stop Cunningham even when Pope was in the game.

I just want to see Moreno play period. If he is not playing in the next couple of weeks put him on the ice for this year and get someone else who can play.

For foock sake give the boys some credit The Crew have been together as a team basicly for a few years. while metro only a few moments. that and the fact both teams know each other so well ( we played 3 times already this year).

The only difference between the two sides was that the Crew had the better opportunities on goal. Hoaward is going to be sorely missed, be it for the Confederations Cup or for good. Neither team looked particularly sharp on the ball. Even thought Arena played well, Pope's absence in the second half underscored the Metros lack of depth on the bench.

For the final 20 minutes of the 1st, half our guys backed off Columbus, ceding a lot of territory to them, giving them way too much room into our defensive third.

Compare that with Columbus immediately closing our players when we got the ball, conceding no room at all.

I think Bradley clued them in on this at the half, because the battle was more even throughout the second half, and we were the ones to close fast and harrass goalside the length of the field.
Columbus relied on speed and physical pressure.
Fortunately, a single goal was not enough to keep us out of the game.

We are not head-and-shoulders better than any other team in the league, but we can recover from mistakes, make corrections, and fight through to at least a point. That puts us on top of the league right now. The confidence that comes from knowing we can be off and still pull it together for a point is is invaluable.

We have to be concerned that Timmy's and Clint's absence will shake that confidence. On top of that, Pope is injured with a sprained knee. How long will that keep him out, and will it adeft his going to the Confed cup?

I don't know about 'adeft' but it might affect his cup appearance.

I need a new keyboard. Or fingers.

I'd like to see a 40 yard time on West and Cunningham and compare it to Mathis and Magee because we looked very slow and they looked like world sprinters.

I think this is a great sign of the quality of our MetroStars. Once in a while, teams stink up the joint. But the fact that they still came away with a point shows us how class our team is. Admit it, the score would have been 3:1 last year.
