If we win it all, we will only be more attractive to prospective host cities.

I'm sorry, but where is all of this coming from? Was there some new development today that has everyone all sens-a-tiv?

No, nothing new, just all the "Move San Jose" crowd here on BigSoccer have us down so we're assuming the worst.

I personally have been enjoying every game at Spartan as if it were my last, since Miami took the bullet for us after the 2001 season.

The only news (on ussocceruk.com) today: Chivas USA will likely be placed in LA, and there will be a new expansion team in Salt Lake City in 2005. Still not 100% confirmed.
I wonder if MLS will move LA galaxy to Salt Lake City, so Chivas USA won't have to share Home Depot Center with anyone :)

Just because we're paranoid doesn't mean that they're still not out to get us.

The lesson there: "Attractive soccer-playing Semifinalist trending positively in attendance" (read: Fall) won't be good enough. We gotta win it all.

Unless you believe Phil, Tim and Alexi are rolling up their sleeves on this stadium deal.

I will "believe" when they roll up their sleeves to stick a shovel in the ground.

No it didn't! The Fusion's and Mutiny's contraction had absolutely nothing to do with the Earthquakes whatsoever.

    GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

That's right, Spartacus! In the words of Dr. Johnny Fever, "when everyone's out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking."

Though there's still a ways to go toward the final goal, with the way things appear to be heading, the only South Bay residents the above graphics depict will be Spartan Shops.

    GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

They're trying a lot harder to save you than they did the Florida teams. And the Bay Area is a bigger market than they were.

With the Cleveland Grovers out of the picture, there probably won't be more than one site ready by 2005 anyway, and that city will have an expansion team. So I'm guessing two more years at Spartan, then Columbus Crew Stadium West.

    Here's an ugly thought:

What if only one team is ready for expansion next year? Would MLS go with an 11 team league for a year? Or hold up expansion? Or...

    And Dan, funny line.

From what I've heard it would be an 11 team league with no East/West, just all 11 in the same conference like Europe, except with the top 8 teams making the play-offs. This was when the expansion was 1st planned though, so it might have changed.
