Yes the name is weird but he is in fact of Ghanaian descent. Or maybe he is half Surinamese descent, which would explain the name. I remember there was talk of him switching to Ghana 4 or 5 years ago.
He's related to Brobbey, whose infact, Ghanaian... Luckassen doesn't seem like a Caribbean name.. but I'm not an expert.
There's not such a thing as a Caribbean name. The Caribbs have been exterminated/became extinct. The inhabitants of the Dutch Caribbian islands have for the most Dutch names, like former Feyenoord player Lutsharel Geertruida, Dutch Antilles baseball players Hensley Meulens, Radhames Dykhoff etc. Others have French or English names.

Not sure if anyone caught this but South Africa have had their 2-0 home win over Lesotho overturned to a 3-0 forfeit due to playing and ineligible player. This means Benin are now top of the table and technically have their fate in their own hands with a slightly better goal difference v South Africa. However, Benin's last 2 games are away to Nigeria and Rwanda, ironically the 2 teams 3 points behind them and South Africa. Rwanda would also be a first time qualifier but also have the fixtures going against them, playing Benin and then at home to South Africa. I'd say South Africa still look favorites but not quite as certain as it was beforehand.
After 20 seconds Cape Verde are in trouble... ⚽️ Libya’s goal vs Cape Verde in under one minute! 😳What a blistering start and what a finish! 🔥🇱🇾#WCQ #Libya #CapeVerde #WorldCupwithMicky #AfricanFootball pic.twitter.com/5g1dt5eNd4— Micky Jnr (@MickyJnr__) October 8, 2025
Cape Verde with an equalizer now. As things stand, The Sharks are qualifying to the WC, thanks to Cameroon and Mauritius still being tied 0-0 currently. 1975921431851491689 is not a valid tweet id
Lmao, Aliou Cisse and Libya are doing everything in their power to keep Cape Verde from qualifying today. Libya take the lead again towards the end of the first half. Poor defensive display from Cape Verde so far today. 1975923931610530057 is not a valid tweet id
Halftime: Libya 2-1 Cape Verde | Cameroon 0-0 Mauritius Things have gotten very interesting in this group now. Cape Verde haven't scored more than once a game so far this campaign. They'll need to break that streak if they want to qualify today with an unblemished qualifying record.
Welp, Cape Verde will have to seek their ticket to the WC at home against Eswatini, whose currently beating Angola 2-1. The third goal for Libya… what a hit from the free kick! 😳🔥An absolute rocket to make it 3-1 against Cape Verde. 🇱🇾💥⚽️#WorldCupQualifiers #WCQ #AfricanFootball #Libya #CapeVerde #WorldCupwithMicky pic.twitter.com/xv6EJ8AmRW— Micky Jnr (@MickyJnr__) October 8, 2025
Holy cow! Cape Verde have clawed back to make it 3-3 with 8 minutes left to play! An absolute howler from the goalie made it 2-3 and then 6 minutes later, Cape Verde find their equalizer! GOAL! 🎬🔥Libya 🇱🇾 3–3 🇨🇻 Cape Verde! This is insane! What a comeback, what a game! Pure drama in Tripoli! 😳⚽️#WorldCupQualifiers #WCQ #AfricanFootball #Libya #CapeVerde #WorldCupwithMicky pic.twitter.com/iQ4yelmOnQ— Micky Jnr (@MickyJnr__) October 8, 2025
This game has been absolutely insane. A header off the line denies Cape Verde the goal that would've sent them to the World Cup and then moments later it's followed up with an impeccable kick save from Libya. Chaos.
Libya away is a tough game with a hostile crowd and enviroment. Just ask Nigeria The important game is at Home against Eswatini. That is the one they are supposed to win. Lets hope they dont choke. Crazier things has happened in African Football
Not very hostile, when it's an empty stadium at noon on a work day. Libya just looked up for it since they still had a lot to play for(best second place), but the bottle job coupled with Cameroon's 2-0 win over Mauritius probably put a damper on those chances now.
Yes but playing in Libya Can be hostile. Have You seen what happened to Nigerias team when they went there. As soon as they Got to the airport, the hostility began. Of course I dont know if the same happened today, but I wouldnt be surprised, since the game was important for Libya. And they are not a bad team so it was a tough match. The next game has always been the important one. That one they have to win
Bizarre blunder helps Rotterdam-tinted Cape Verde to point, but World Cup ticket is not in yet with video Cape Verde is not yet sure of its first World Cup participation ever. The team with six born Rotterdammers in the selection eek:) would have had enough of a win away at Libya to secure the ticket, but the game ended in a spectacular 3-3 draw. On Monday, a second chance awaits at home against Eswatini (the former Swaziland). 8 October 2025, 17:05 Last update: 18:07 Cape Verde will still face competition from Cameroon, which won 0-2 against Mauritius in the same World Cup qualifying group. The difference between the two competitors is two points in favor of Cape Verde. Cameroon closes the qualifying group on Monday with a home game against Angola. The group winner qualifies directly for the World Cup, the best numbers two can still grasp the straw of the play-offs. Six from Rotterdam It is not entirely coincidental that the six Dutch players at Cape Verde were all born and raised in Rotterdam-West, where a large part of the 35,000 Dutch Cabos live. Jamiro Monteiro of PEC Zwolle was in the starting line-up, as was Dailon Livramento. The other four (Sidny Lopes Cabral, Deroy Duarte, Laros Duarte and Garry Mendes Rodrigues) started on the bench. Cape Verde started the match dramatically. Roberto Lopes worked the ball into his own goal in the first minute. After half an hour of play, Monteiro was at the basis of Telmo Arcanjo's equalizer, but on the stroke of halftime, Ezzeddin El Maremi restored Libya's lead. After Mahmoud Al-Shalawi's 3-1 from a beautiful free kick, Cape Verde seemed to be playing a lost game. Due to a huge blunder by Libyan keeper Murad Al Wuheeshi, Cape Verde came back. He let a harmless roller from Rotterdammer Sidny Lopes Cabral slip through his legs in a clumsy way. After Willy Semedo's 3-3 in the 82nd minute, Cape Verde had huge chances to secure the victory and thus a World Cup ticket, but the team did not get further than a disallowed goal far into injury time.
Oh Indonesia... if only they played with this sort of urgency from the beginning. I just don't see how they qualify with these sort of performances in this sort of environment, where all the odds simply look stacked against them.
FIFA is going to make sure Saudi Arabia qualifies as long as they do their part, even if its piss poor.
Well today Indonesia got 2 penalties and Saudi Got a red card. So I wouldnt blame FIFA for Indonesias loss. They have come a Long Way by bringing all these european born players. But it doesnt guarantee qualification. Teams in Asia are not bad. But Indonesia are getting recognized. I even Saw a tiktok video about it https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdnmUYhq/
I don't agree that the qualifiers are being played in Qatar and Saudi but Indonesia was the piss poor team today. Saudi looked miles better than them. Indonesia shouldn't have sacked their previous Korean manager, they look way worse now under Kluivert
Boy, are those SA players a bunch of childish posers, roling over the turf and acting as if they met that Saudi bonesaw killer. They should be whipped for being an insult to Saudi masculinity.
To be honest I'm questioning Kluivert performance as a coach with this team. When Ole Romeny came in, Indonesia promptly got far more dangerous up front.
Buddy, you're preaching to the choir. I've been saying this ever since he got hired just to appease the Dutch delegation.
He's just not a good coach. Unfortunately I think their run ends here, unless they play some seriously inspired futbol against Iraq in two days.
