There has been no Italian 'whining' about the difficulty of the draw. The draw was covered in great detail by the Gazzetta dello Sport and the other Italian sports dailies and the sentiment was mainly that the group is hard, but winnable. Do you really think it's respectable to make such groundless, ignorant claims as above when you haven't done a shred of reading on the matter though? Incidentally, there has been a report circulating over the internet that Sky Italia claimed Lothar Mathaus fixed the draw against the Italians; but it is an absolute non-story in Italy and was not reported in any of the major sports papers as far as I've been able to tell. But carry on with blind hatred of Italian people. I wouldn't want to interrupt your party.
Oh yeh sure. I am sure that the "rumor" that Sky Italia has something to do Italy is so completely groundless. And why is Italy so famous for stupid conspiracy theories?(not just in soccer) Because of all those Italy haters!!! who have nothing better to do other than make up anti-Italy stories after dinner.
I said 'apparently'... You are welcome to say what you will, but at least get my drift right - all I said was that if anyone should be (or at least as a right to) whining it ought to be the Argentinians - and where did I show any hatred for Italians? Anyway, you were never invited to this 'party' at first place, so please show yourself out without too much fuss, please
You're not a mod and you can't kick me out of this forum, especially since I'm not trolling. So you'll just have to buck up, won't you? And yeah, you're wrong, and twice wrong. There is no Italian whining about the draw--none--and you're basically spreading lies. Show us a link to an article in the Italian press that showcases some 'whining'; I'd love to see it . . . .
This instance aside, Italians hardly have cause to complain if we return the "compliment" that you did us with your WC2002 conspiracy theories. No we shouldn't accuse without evidence, but isn't that exactly what Italy and Spain did post WC2002?
Absolutely--I make no excuse for the childish and hysterical reaction in the Italian press after the 2002 World Cup. That was a disgrace. As an intelligent person, though, you can probably see that all that whining and hysteria were no more than a face-saving gesture. Italy was deeply embarrassed by its performance in Japan/ Korea. Same goes for Spain, though, to be fair, the Spaniards had a lot to complain about .....................
That i don't disagree. Spain match was very questionable. But then again, they had plenty of chances to win the match also.
kudos to you for owning up to it, but most of the frustration you see here stems from the fact that there are still far too many Italia fans who use the "Korea cheated. Plain and simple." cop out. it's gotten old. outside of the fanboys who watch with blinders on (every country has them), true KOR fans who know their football intimately did not and would not dispute this. there are calls that could have gone either way for both teams, but regardless, that was a poorly ref'ed match. good luck to the Azzuri in Germany. tough group you guys have landed.
