Mario Gori, Welton and RDA. These board message boards are becoming more and more ridiculous! You guys have to much time on your hands to think about and even post such bull*************** on these boards. I have been a Metrofan user since 1998. There was a time when I really enjoyed communicating with fellow Metro Fans. Now all we have are a few fans who use these boards to post what they think( and they alone) are humorous posts. Ok I vented ,now if anyone has some real insights on the beautiful game and my beloved Metros please post them! Beacuse nobody else is.
OK, I hear Cordt Weinstein might be re-signed. Whaddaya think? I think it's a positive step towards building a new tradition! Let me know your thoughts.
Yeah but think about the fans and all that they have gone through by following this team. They deserve to be as crazy as they wanna be....
To be honest, to many of you fans have to much time on your hands. We finally have a insightfull coach who will turn this team around. Gori,Welton,Cienfuegos etc. are not in Bradleys plans(maybe 5 years ago they were). This webpage is going downhill, I wish someone(not me, don't have the time) would create a new forums page for some intelligent discussion(atleast once in a while).
If youre tired of all the "jokes", then why dont YOU post something "intelligent"? Instead you came on here to whine like a little girl. Practice what you preach.
Let's do some more! From the most recent (March 2003) issue of "Soccer Digest" in an article about Bob Bradley taking over the MetroStars: "A telltale sign of Bradley's philosophy comes when asked about the possibility of former MetroStars forward Giovanni Savarese returning to the team in 2003. Before praising Savarese's playing abilities, Bradley talks about the veteran forward's qualities as a person. "I don't know him well, but everyone says he's a great guy," says Bradley. "I've always been impressed [that] he plays with a lot of pride. The expression is that he 'plays for his shirt.' He cares about the team. Every team needs guys like that."
Thanks for this info. Glad to see Bradley's philosophy is in line with most Metro supporters. Depending upon how cheaply he can be had, I wouldn't mind having Gio back on the bench waiting to poach another late game goal. Probably a better option than Magee for this year. BTW, does he have a green card?
Amen. I mean if you can't joke about the Metrostars and all of their insane history that goes along with them, then you will go insane yourself.
From the Daily News of October 29, 2002: SAVARESE'S GOAL: RETURN TO THE METROSTARS Giovanni Savarese said yesterday he is ready to return to MLS, and if he had his way, he would play for the MetroStars again. With a wife and a 20-month-old daughter, Saravese said he's looking to settle down in the metropolitian area after playing the last two years in Venezuela and England. Savarese, a Venezuelan citizen who played as a foreigner with the MetroStars, now has a green card, which would make him more desirable to MLS teams, which are limited to three foreign players each. "I feel I still can give a lot to soccer," said Saravese, who is an assistant coach at St. John's. "I feel I can be productive. I'm 31. I have taken care of myself all my life. I don't drink and go out. I don't see why (a team wouldn't want him)." Savarese would love to play for the MetroStars, for whom he scored 41 goals in three seasons from 1996-98. That decision would be up to new coach Bob Bradley. "I went to school (LIU) here. I played for the Rough Riders," he said. "If there was a team I could play for, it would be the MetroStars. I have a feeling for the shirt." And if he winds up with another team? "I don't care if I have to go anywhere," Saravese said. "I am a professional."
A little joking around is par for the course, but when every thread on this board continues the same joke, it gets stale real quick. How many times do we have to read about RDA or Gori joining the Metrostars?
Re: Re: These board messages are getting ridculous! Hey Troll/ Scum-supporter, You just read that and responded and you just read this.
Hang in there. It's been a long, cold winter. Can you imagine the grounhog coming out in just 3 weeks and saying, yeah I'm gonna stay outside a little longer.
