Still out for the season finale: So spielt YB mit Captain Sulejmani heute gegen GC 💛🖤Abwesende: Lustenberger (gesperrt), Siebatcheu, Lauper, Lefort, Petignat (verletzt), Racioppi, Maier (nicht im Aufgebot).#BSCYB #YBGC #MerciSuki pic.twitter.com/ke9XenrHPy— BSC YOUNG BOYS (@BSC_YB) May 22, 2022 While I couldn't find direct confirmation, after looking for patterns I think the tiebreaker for the Swiss Super League Golden Boot is assists. So unless Assan Cessay (19) gets a hat trick today, Jordan Pefok (22) will win the league's Golden Boot.— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) May 22, 2022
Wins the Swiss Super League Torjägerkrone: Nach Guillaume Hoarau (2019) und Jean-Pierre Nsame (2020 & 2021) darf sich dieses Jahr Jordy Siebatcheu die Torjägerkrone aufsetzen. Herzliche Gratulation 💛🖤-#bscyb #ybforever pic.twitter.com/mhFbVL6Rlk— BSC YOUNG BOYS (@BSC_YB) May 22, 2022

Montpellier finished 13th this season. They scored 49 goals in 38 games. 19-year-old Elye Wahi scored 10 of them.
He scored 6 goals in 55 Ligue 1 appearances. All his good scoring seasons were in Ligue 2 or the 3rd Division. He’s obviously a different and more confident player now and he’s an obvious candidate to move up, but he’s never proven it at that level.
55 appearances, yeah, but only about 21 games worth of minutes. He has averaged a goal every 314 minutes in Ligue 1, which isn't great, but isn't anywhere near as bad as the 55 appearances stat sounds.
Season 1: 6 starts in 15 League games. Season 2, 4 starts in 14 League games. He was hurt a bit, but not that much. Only one long-term injury, a thigh muscle IIR in his first season that put him out for 12 games. It's just that he was a (usually late) sub for the first 18 months, and then relegated to the dreaded "not in squad" in the second half of his final season. They never seemed to regard him as being up to the task and they essentially put him in mothballs until the transfer market opened up.
He was a big signing for Rennes and a massive disappointment after getting his fair share of opportunities - maybe even more than his play deserved due to his price tag. Beyond the underwhelming stats, his play was just not good, he was never able to establish himself in the squad under multiple managers, and he didn't end up at Young Boys by accident. There is a reason why he was bought for €9.00m and sold at €2.50m. Now of course that was an option on the loan, but it shows how much his value dropped by the time of his loan not long after he was their most expensive transfer of the season. But that was then and this is now, and he has done a great job fighting his way back. As stated earlier in the thread, he's a rejuvenated, more complete player and absolutely deserves more chances at a higher club and international level... though let's not have rose-colored glasses on what was a really poor time at Rennes.
Rumor of BVB interest: https://www.goal.com/de/meldungen/bvb-sasa-kalajdzic-transfer-borussia-dortmund/blt3abc4456b7102e93
Sounds like he'd be the 4th or 5th option if the Sasa Kalajdzic deal falls through with Stuttgart. In other words.... Hell will have to freeze over before Pefok lands at BvB.
Sounds more like Silly Season stuff to me: no games to report on but column inches to fill/word quotas to meet, so toss in anyone else who's on the move into the final paragraph to round things off. Pefok to newly-promoted Bremen, Hertha or even Stuttgart? Sure, but no way is he going to Dortmund. At 26, he's more than a bit old for their profile of paying sizeable transfer fees for a top youngster to refine and sell on and the league he's been tearing it up in isn't strong enough to warrant their making an exception to that policy. Add in his weaknesses - lethal in the box but so-so out of it, streaky, etc. - and it's just not going to happen.
https://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball...-kanga-sollen-verkauft-werden-id17579642.html (the ads are so bad I had to open the article in an incognito window) For coach Raphael Wicky, however, this is not an indication of a departure. “Jordy still has adductor problems from last season. It's just a precautionary measure." But the fact is: caution is very important in the Siebatcheu case. Not that last season's top scorer (22 goals) is still injured - now that a transfer is imminent. Unlikely that it will be Borussia Dortmund, as the Ruhr news speculated. Rather clubs like Montpellier from Ligue 1, where Siebatcheu is said to have generated interest. In any case, the probability that he will leave YB is 99.99 percent.
Per @berger_pj @SPORT1, #USMNT striker Jordan Siebatcheu (Pefok as he is referred to in the USA) to fly to Berlin ahead of likely move from YB to FC Union. Medical check tomorrow, 4 year deal, 6 million Euro transfer which can rise to 8 mill with bonuses. Awoniyi successor. https://t.co/Sd2XjAoTEM— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) June 29, 2022 Not too late for “The Lovesong of T. Jordan Pefok’ to be our title
I love this move. Since securing promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history in 2019-20, Union has overcome odds and obstacles to become a very respectable club. They finished 5th last season and for the second time running qualified for Europe. This time qualifying for the Europa League instead of Conference League. Union have played with stereotypical #9 so I think this is a wonderful opportunity for Pefok. Very good replacement for Taiwo Awoniyi who signed with Nottingham Forest. He should get minutes immediately. I also really, really like and respect Urs Fischer as a manger. One of those managers that can do a lot with a little, gets the best out of his player’s abilities, and tends to be flexible tactically.
Big shoes to fill. Union lost their main striker, Awoniyi, to Forest, a few days ago. He was #6 top scorer in the BuLi with 15 goals.
huge move for him. Should be in the hunt for minutes from the start and if he can find a way to excel, puts him in the discussion for the 26. Happy to see it.
