U21s (formerly the reserve team), starting there campaign tonight vs Bolton. Yennaris, Eisfeld and Gnabry starting.
Ya "@YoungGunsBlog: Arsenal's U21's beat Bolton U21's 3-1. Super comeback. A goal and man down at half-time. Eisfeld and Henderson brace seal win."
YA! CONNOR HENDERSON! Really hope he takes advantage of the new U21 league. There are so many games for him to improve his game and get back into the first-team. Eisfeld is leading the group of kids who, when he becomes a star, the commentators will say is not really our youth product... and I will say "******** you [insert commentator name(s) here]".
Matt Littlechild@mattlittlechild Santi Cazorla is here watching the U'21s tonight. Just walked past. #afc Class! 4,373 fans turned up for the game, thats a great turn out and a good idea to have the games at the hosts first team home ground. Good experience for the young guys
According to Jeff L, the first two games at at the Emirates and then the rest are at the training ground behind closed doors.
Yea...if I lived over there! Pity they arent shown live on player. Any word on delayed coverage or extended highlites during the week?
This would be a great opportunity to sell tickets for 5 pounds and 1 pounds if you're under 16. (or something similar).
The buzz around this kid for those in the know is incredible. Read this... http://younggunsblog.co.uk/2012/07/arsene-wengers-gamble-on-thomas-eisfeld-pays-off/#.UDOWn4Fv8XQ
Eisfeld and Gnabry ... Two promising players. I just watched the highlights of the win over Bolton and Gnabry was pretty dam good out there.
Toral and Ballerin are both in the reserves. I believe they are getting regular minutes too. It is a shame that AP does not show the reserve matches live anymore. Toral got call-ups to the Spanish youth team too. So, I doubt that he is awful. TBF, I am not the best person on the subject. Maybe Scally or Bigman can chime in.
Where are the highlights available other than Arsenal.com I did not renew my membership yet and I probably wont till I go to the Emirates in October/November.
I hav'nt been following either guy closely since they joined to be honest. Bellerin started for the U-21's and Toral was on the bench. I might not be far off with my Ljungberg comparison on Eisfeld. All his goals so far seem to be clinical finishes inside the box. He can smell a chance, that much is proven already
Hard to say since highlights are limited, but Toral was the only Arsenal player to score when Bolton u-18s absolutely skullf*cked ours.
Good win but I've got some questions for those who get to see these guys play regularly. Was Miquel as poor as he looked in the clip? Was Shea as good as he looked there? Where was Aneke? Eisfeld and Gnabry looked good (except for that silly giveaway for Eisfeld) but I didn't see Yennaris in the clip. How did he do? How far is Meade down the order at LB?
