Bebe, Djemba-Djemba and most of the 07/08 Derby side have to be considered worthy of this "accolade", but hands down it has to be Ali Dia. He conned his way into playing in the Premier League and wasn't even a real player. He's like a guy from down the pub who blagged his way onto the pitch for his favourite local side.

I think including Jon Walters at Stoke would be harsh. As bad as he was in that game at Chelsea, he also scored a great goal in a different game against Chelsea and has generally done okay.

However if we want to look in Stoke's recent history, look no further than Vincent Pericard. He never makes it into these lists, how, I really don't know? Once of Juventus, incredibly, Pericard had two cracks at the Premiership, once at Portsmouth and another at Stoke. In 16 Premiership appearances, Pericard score 0 goals. His time at Stoke is mostly remembered for getting locked up for lying about driving a car going at 103mph and trying to fight someone in a local night club.

The guy was a clown and a pretty poor striker at the best of times. After being released by Stoke, he dropped down TWO LEVELS to have a crack at League 1 with Swindon. He scored just 2 goals in 34 appearances. He then dropped down even further in the leagues and made 5 appearances for Havant and Waterloovile (non-league team) making just 5 appearances and scoring no goals.

He retired in 2012 at the age of 29 having enjoyed a glittering career, scoring an incredible 23 goals in 166 appearances and winning absolutely nothing.

Thanks for the memories Vincent, you were horrific.

Ahhhh yes Vincent Pericard. He actually scored two goals for my team but he was a poor player.

What worries me is Juventus opted to sign him up on some unknown mystery evidence, where he stayed for two years and virtually never played. So Portsmouth was really his first exposure to first team football at the age of 20. Probably makes him a candidate for the African dodgy passport collective.

The only English club he has played for is Fulham who is no longer in the Premier League.

You really have to look at mid-90s to mid 2000s Tottenham for this.

    Gordan Bunjevcevic
    Milenko Acimovic
    Dean Austin
    Anthony Gardner
    Ramon Vega
    Mauricio Taricco
    Moussa Saib...
    Hossam Ghaly...

    Could go on for days

It's all a bit subjective, I suppose. Given that we want at least a hint of perfection in our players. Anyway, someone said Rebrov ... which is very crazy. This guy was a fantastic player who just didn't ever manage to really hit the highs for Spurs. A bit like Smicer at Liverpol, although Smicer hit many more highs than Rebrov. I think that disparity in memory's mind makes some players seem to have been worse then they were. Of course, then there are guys who were good who came to the premiership after they had already waned in other leagues, leaving them bloody woeful here - Christian Poulson is a great example of one of these..... Then there are the ones who at a professional level boggle the eye as to how they got there ..... Sean ('effin) Dundee for example? Then there are the ones who just think they are much better than they are, which amplifies their shortcomings for the rest of us to see - our friend Bendtner being the probable prime example here. Then there were guys who are/were very good players in a specific role and because of their strength and fitness abilities and willingness to work for the evolution of a manager's dubious theories they played their little footsies out in the ongoing disaster of being a square peg in a round hole; Dirk Kuyt is the prime example of this, stuck in a position he was hopelessly incapable of being anywhere near as good in as in his real perfect position.Hard to call a player like that bad because he is working hard and doing a manager's job, but the skills to do the job most think of as the job there are deficient, so there's an element of worseness to it... But if you want the worst players, I think you have to look at gifted players like El hadji Diouf, who gave nothing of themselves whilst taking everything on offer...........
