I kind of liked Jeepers Creepers up until the end. The second one sucked, but it was a sequel.

And I can't believe I forgot Charlie's Angels 2! I didn't like the first one, but it looks like "Bridge Over the River Kwai" by comparison. It wasn't even "laughably bad", just "they mailed this one in to make a quick $50 million" bad.

Four pages and no one has said Battlefield Earth?

The worst movie I've ever seen bar none. I kind of thought it might get kitschy or so-bad-its-good, but it never did. At the hour mark we decided to stick it out until the end just out of awestruck curiosity.

Isn't Go Fish a lesbian coming of age story? I didn't mind that movie. I also found From Justin to Kelly surprisingly funny at times. The scenes of them 'singing' with all of the background dancers dancing to the now muted dance music, while the leads camp it up, always cracked me up. And once my brother suggested he couldn't wait for the 'From Reuben to Clay' sequel, it provided more laughs than I expected.

I feel good about not having seen about 75% of the films being nominated. I thought the Fantastic 4 was the worst movie I saw this year. When you leave the theatre saying 'damn I should have gone to Dark Water' you know just saw a bad movie.

    cheers,

I'd managed to push that out of my mind, much like those who have suffered a terrible trauma have no clear memory of it.

Thanks for opening that gate to hell. :D

There was a great article in Entertainment Weekly a month ago about with the same headline, about a movie called "Manos: The Hands Of Fate."

A guy from El Paso, Texas made a bet that he could make his own movie, and he did.

That would go down in history as the worst movie "Mystery Science Theater 3000" ever showed.

    I think you're thinking of "Hustler's Barely Legal #46". :D

Yeah, "Battlefield Earth" was reeeeeaaaaalllllly bad! I felt like a member of the audience for the 1st half of 'Spring Time for Hitler' when I saw it? Actually you can produce quite a decent sub-directory of bad movies which belong to JT!

"Get Shorty" was a bit stinky, then there's "The General's Daughter", eeck "Swordfish", "Face-Off", 'Broken Arrow", "Look who's Talkings", "Staying Alive" and "Urban Cowboy"? I would also offer "Lucky numbers" and "A Civil Action" for consideration, and then there's the ones I haven't be unlucky enough to see?

No I haven't gotten around to seeing that one yet. I'm worried that if I don't see "Hustler's Barely Legal #45" first, the plot of #46 won't make sense. ;)

    cheers,
    hobbes

PS I forgot about Manos: Hands of Fate. I've never seen it, but it's considered worse than Plan 9 From Outer Space.

for me, the absolute worst movies can't be some "earnest goes to..." or some horror schlock - it has to be something with good people involved that reasonably could have been a least decent

the first few that come to mind are "waiting to exhale", "batman & robin" and "indecent proposal" - father of the bride II was friggin' utterly abysmal also, but i didn't really expect much of it in the first place

EDIT: i just remembered the truly shambolic "little nicky"

have to vote for 'multiplicity' - at the time I was working at a movie theater and several of us walked out of the free employee screening!

also have a 'showgirls' story from that job: kid from my school came to the theater to see it and asked my opinion as I ripped his ticket, I said it was fairly crap, not even good porn really. couple hours later, I'm standing there, hear 'you were right,' and see him walking away.

Right I can’t just pick one.

I’ve got a top three. Not in any particular order.

    1. Armageddon
    2. Pearl Harbour
    3. Titanic

    Bless you.

Having read through this thread, I would have been disappointed if no one had brought this flick up. Good ol' Torgo...

And jwaldman11 is right: the worst Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie of all time...

...but NOT their funniest treatment of a bad movie. That's got to (GOT TO) go to "Mitchell!" :D

I'll go for any of those as worst "dramatic" movie, or maybe as "unintentional comedy", but how about ones that are supposed to be funny? One just off the top of my head
Along Came Polly (turned off the DVD, the pain was too great)

I'm sorry, but if I just bursted out laughing looking at the Manos cover and saying the whole movie title out loud, then we have to let it slide as the worst movie ever.

What? No love (hate?) for Plan 9 From Outer Space? What about Robot Monster? An alien robot gorilla wearing a space helmet has to be worth something.

Or what about The Giant Claw, where a gargantuan extraterrestrial buzzard wrapped in an antimatter shield terrorizes New York? Just look at the thing!

No, actually, not even the cast and writers could agree on what the worst movie they ever did was. There's even a specific line in the Manos episode where the bots' will is breaking, and Joel, trying to rally them, says, "Guys! We got through Monster a-Go Go, we can get through this!"

According to the cast and crew, the worst MST3K episodes are Manos, Monster a-Go Go, and The Incredible Melting Man. It all depends on whose opinion you read in what book/on what website.

My personal vote goes for The Creeping Terror. Yeah, nothing like the crew losing the audio track so that the movie has to be narrated to you. With normal dialogue it would've been just another bad sci-fi film, but the narration just drives me completely insane.

Nothing from the last 15 years even comes close to this crap. Movies like Sci-Fi Channel-produced films and Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys are high art by comparison.

No way. None of them were really bad, and "Ernest Goes to Prison" is actually really funny.

Every time this thread comes around, I have to remind people of the agony of "Shock Treatment", the sequel to the already terrible "Rocky Horror Picture Show".

This movie is shown to Al Qaeda suicide bombers in order to make them lose the will to live. It produces boredom so great one viewing will kill 10 French post-modern philosophers. Any tape holding the movie emits gamma radiation. Any VCR used to play it becomes corrupt. Any eye used to see it becomes blind. Any mind used to understand it becomes retarded. And the new actor that plays "Brad" is rather stiff.

I have never walked out of a movie theatre - not even for "Batman & Robin". But (and this is the non-existent God's honest truth!) I walked away from a hot tub full of naked women in order to stop watching "Shock Treatment".

It is your right to have such an opinion.

It is my right to have an opinion that your opinion is completely ludicrous.

His additions to the Worst Movie of All Time Thread have included The Royal Tennenbaums, Anchorman, and Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou....

Clearly he doesn't like movies that are funny and brilliantly written.

It's safe to assume that no functioning human being asks jayro75 for advice on what movie to watch very often.
