and please no one from st kitts and nevis or something like that - im talkin' big time nation, hands down, most shambolic waste of football oxygen - my personal choice.......

francesco coco - oh he is so awful - how can barca, inter and milan have paid this pile of crap?! he clearly is the world leader at moving the ball up the wing, losing it and watching the counter go the other way - he may as well be lined up in the hot dog stand

You should probably restrict it to guys who have gotten over 10 caps or so too. Plenty of managers have mistaken a run of good form for quality and taken a look before deciding not to continue making the same mistake. With that being said:

    Phil Neville.

John Aloisi (Osasuna) maybe he should start off small like in the Belgian League rather than the Spanish League

No one can beat Carsten Jancker lol he's just so bad at everything he's even atrocious in the air. I love watching him play, usally have a sweep-stake on how many mistakes he can make a game lol.

I think bad strikers, Goalkeepers and defenders are highlighted more at international level then midfielders.

The bigger the country and the worse the player the better. you always wonder how they escape the 'rubbish-radar' of teams with such a tradition of great players etc

Jancker stands out for me because he's just crap at everything lol at least emile heskey is fast and strong i've seen Jancker muscled off the ball by players half his size lol.

Dugarry is amazingly terrible and has stayed on the team due to relationship with ZZ.

He truly does have the touch of a donkey. It can be painful to watch how frustrating his strike partners get when he cannot convert a give-and-go or plays them offsides by fumbling a trap and delaying a pass so that they cannot hold their position.

There are some midfielders who look really ridiculous too, though. Guys like Kevin Kilbane who get out there and try really hard (headless chicken routine) and absolutely cannot get a touch on the ball or when they do - they are so nervous and the game is going so much faster than they are capable of negotiating that they boot the ball over the stands.

People almost expect goalkeepers to look bad sometimes, and chronic bumblers like Tafaraal are almost entertaining to watch.

Defenders who are in over their head usually get weeded out pretty quick because they respond by hacking and get a red card or two. You don't get many looks if you make a pattern of that.

But my least favorite are those guys who get onto the field and basically try to "hide" by avoiding the ball, avoiding any of the risks that are necessary for a player to take to make something positive happen . . . guys who just pass the ball backwards or commit a silly foul forty yards from the goal because they are so afraid that the man will make them look bad that they don't play the game. They aren't playing soccer . . . their m.o. is solely to avoid looking bad. That is the recipe for truly disastrous soccer.

i hated vidrio in the mexican national team he is damn slow
and his defence is weak and the worst part of all is that OSASUNA GOT HIM ON LOAN INSTEAD OF CARMONA

    P.S.
he sucked in osasuna too and he now is back with pachuca blowing chunks as usual

I know his strike rate is terrible, but I always heard he was good at playing within the (former) French system - doing a lot of dirty work out wide. I guess as a Heskey fan I am aware/hopeful that you can be valuable to a team without playing a glamorous role. Whether Dugarry deserves to be on the field given the other options that France has/has had in the past - that is another question.

There have been some truly awful Scottish goalkeepers too. That has always been something of a running joke.

I really don't like Jens Jeremies either. I think that earlier in his career - he was actually a decent all-around player. However, he has stayed on the team playing in a thuggish/enforcer type role (club and country) and he plays to the stereotypes - he doesn't seem to add much to the game. You always know what is going to happen when you see him subbing in . . .

There were plenty of US Int'l defenders that were worse than Jeff Agoos over the balance of the time they were on the USMNT. Agoos was over-exposed at the World Cup, but he did a fabulous job in the Qualifying matches. Sort of like Dooley in '98. David Regis is a lot worse, for example.

    The Midfield (S.Fla)
    LeBoeuf.

For all their talent, the French team likes to carry dead weigth for some reason. In addition to Dugarry, Karembeau's last few years were painful - receive...run 5 meters with ball...stop at first sign of defender...pass ball backward......repeat (Liverpool_SC's type of player). Although he was a very useful and enterprising player for many years, including playing a big part in Real's first champions cup in this latest run, those last few displays will scar his legacy.

Jovan Kirovski deserves mention. He just got, what, his 56th cap? for a country that is currently ranked in the top 10...

La Brujita, you stole the words right out of my mouth. I remember during the world cup when France was getting spanked by the Danes, the announcer clearly said, "nobody ever mistook Dugarry for a rocket scientist". The guy plays with absolute zero intelligence and really was only selected for international duty because he was best friends with Zidane at Bourdeaux. Had France selected Anelka instead, they might have managed to score a goal at the world cup.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Carlton Palmer yet, he was one of graham taylor's greatest picks.
Also Vinnie Jones, his captaining wales in a 7-1 defeat to Holland still gives me nightmares.

    Dont talk rubbish..
Phil Neville is a decent player in his natural positions (right defence ,right midfield or central midfield)... He earned a bad reputation playing as a left-back... that just aint his position..He should never have been told to play there.
He had a great game playing right-back for england in Athens .I would pick him ahead of gary neville at right back any day.
