Thinking about not even watching this. 1998-2006 were the best World Cups. Every other one has been meh.

 

Well, technically "home" is China but some Brits think they are the center of all creation (no offense). But yeah I'll be enjoying the English meltdown. I wonder who they'll blame this time.

I grew up as a Selecão fan, ditched football all together after 7-1 but don't see them winning it in Qatar with an inept coach like Tite. Their fullbacks are on par with Carvajal/Mendy vs Rayo – except they do that sh!t every game.

I want to see Croatia, The Netherlands or Portugal win it..

 

Brazil or France has the best team on paper. I do not think France can repeat. Brazil does not have good fullback, but Tite will use three central defenders, I think. I don't really know about England. Their momentum would have been the Euro 2020. Please don't forget that they also fell short in 2018. Their Nations League performances were very poor. Bellingham is good, but their emerging players were better rated in 2021 than 2022.

On paper, Portugal has a good mix of veterans and youngsters. If Ronaldo could figure his role, they could go far. Argentina lacked big name players. Messi, Di Maria, Dybala, Lo Celso or Lautaro were the only names I recognised from their projected roster. Except Lautaro, they are on their downward spiral. Germany lacks offensive power. I heard Muller still starts for them.

 

Shame really, Carlo kind of Fd him over by not playing him much this fall.

 

Was painfully average in whatever cameos he had tbh

Seeing conflicting reports. Apparently Dechamps wants to bring 4 GKs instead of an extra midfielder.

Midfield looks putrid. They have Fofana as a midfielder for ffs.

France has more talent than this. That idiot basically called up attackers and a bunch of uncreative mids, CBs or tweener CBs and will expect Benzema and Mbappe to save him.

Theo has been in form (attacking) so that left side will at least be dangerous

 

I don't hate our ex-players. I am glad that Varane made it. I do not support France so I don't care if he sucks in Qatar.
