England have home advantage - Qatar was a British protectorate until it declared independence in 1971.

Nah. It would be a good third place playoff. I don’t want Argentina anywhere near the final.

I don't care, the political and football historical aspect would be absolutely brilliant for me. Vintage modern.

Argentina GK says Matheu Lahoz gave Netherlands 10 minutes of extra time "for no reason". Messi talked sh*t about both the ref and Louis Van Gaal. Argentina is scummier than Atletico Madrid. It really sucks that Croatia probably won't beat them without penalties. I'm hoping France or Portugal can do something. England and Morocco are longshots.

The Dutch brought on every single tall person they had on the team to milk headers and dead ball situations.

It's absolutely cringeworthy to see how some people are getting in their feelins because of Argentina.

So far all teams that advanced did what they had to do to make it. Not a single bad result so far. If the Brazilians had a bit more fight to them than smiles and complaints to the ref, they'd be facing Argentina next week.

Brazil I think just lacks a focal point. Especially in NT football you need a real 9 for when it’s just not happening.

Also that Antony kid. I know why people find him frustrating and he definitely seems like a shithead. But I think the ability is there. No idea if he’ll make anything of it though.

Croatia has needed extra time and penalties in every single knockout game so far and in 2018. Argentina has an excellent penalty keeper in Martinez, would be interesting to see if Croatia adapts their approach.

I think Martinez is overrated, both saves yesterday were absolutely atrocious penalties.

"Van Gaal sells that he plays good football and then he puts forwards in the box and starts throwing long balls," Messi said of Van Gaal's tactics. "We deserved to go through and that's what happened."

hahahahahaha I like the cule on cule violence these two deserve each other

Also from an American perspective man we really have a long long long way to go still.

He's right though, van Gaal pretends to know better but in the last World Cup he was subbind in that absolute clown of a goalkeeper that overdid it so much they ended up changing the rules just because of it.

He is a shithead that gets into players heads during penalties. Did the same when Argentina won a couple of shootouts when whey won the Copa America, I think one of them was against Colombia.

Great players make those around them better. I think Neymar just simply never reached his potential.

Argentina should have finished the match with 9 players.

Nonsense. Barely any real aggression. What we played during the Mourinho era was borderline butchering compared to it, if we go even further look at Caparros era Sevilla. That was on another planet.

I started to worry when Vinicius and Neymar were laughs and giggles after they missed a pretty big chance in the first half. Mostly because we do the same (not just with vinicius, but in general) in Madrid. You can laugh when you've put the game to bed.
