Yeah and continued by saying "The other topic is solved. We have fixed that in-house and that’s it." You know I'm not a Cristiano fanboy, this doesn't seem deap at all. Tactical decision that obviously is working out fine for Portugal. Santos the goat.
🚨 Fernando Santos on Ronaldo: "It's a strategic decision. We've been preparing for a few days. Ronaldo is an exemplary professional and when he's needed in the game he'll definitely be a great help." pic.twitter.com/PNstZGcBCH— All Things Cristiano (@CristianoTalk) December 6, 2022

The joy I feel for Pepe scoring even if he's not our player for years now I won't feel for Cristiano ever. Cristiano might be one of the best to play for us but he doesn't feel like a club legend at all.
The Ronaldo benching probably makes sense. He is not a 120 minute player but you can’t sub him out in a knockout game because of the risk it goes to penalties. Far better to sub him in rather than sub him out.
Extremely important distinction. He doesn’t feel connected to Madrid in any way despite being our greatest player ever.
I think it’s a great decision by Portugal and Santos. It only increases their chances of doing something amazing in this tournament. Cristiano should understand how lethal he can be in end game situations where he is going against tired defenders.
The Guardian (UK): Fox Sports’ US World Cup coverage is an unmissable abomination What the hell is the problem with Brits? I for one think the Fox coverage has been stellar, my go to instead of beIN/BBC/ITV/TSN. I absolutely love their UHD/4K quality!
Well I cannot even say he's the greatest. Like for sure he's in the discussion but he's not undisputed the greatest.
neither do a lot of great players these days. They are mercenaries. They sign below the biggest eight-figure number. Ibrahimovic was at least open about this, but some of them want to be seen as a loyal legend! Yeah, you've played for four other rival clubs and will play for two or three more after you leave your current club? Get lost! They lust for money, mansions, glory and "legend" status. I prefer guys like Modric, who were quietly amazing, magical, humble, won't outstay his welcome after he retires. He'll probably become one of those phlegmatic managers who wins loads of trophies and just sits in his seat and lets the players take the glory.
