Found out? I don't care if people know I don't like Arena, just thought it was weird some schmuck kept records of Bigsoccer users who have offensive opinions to him and then try to use it as arsenal months later.
I don't mind watching it too much...although I have probably seen only a couple WUSA games on TV. Girls are much more athletic, and also much more academic in the US than in any other country. Girls soccer where I come from is serious business. They train just as hard as the boys. That being said, a good match for a U-15 girls team is a U-12 or U-13 boys team. I played with a great female player on a co-ed indoor team this winter. She played as a freshman on the NCAA girls champoinshiop team and had the winning assist in the final. The league we were in was pretty weak, but there were some college and competitive high school players, and she juked the crap out of them. She does play on the U-19 national team, but I was still impressed with her pace and shot power. She also has excellent skills. She is about 5'10" as well and very physical. She is definitely good enough to fill a spot on a men's college squad, although probably not at the top level.
Re: Re: The women just don't get it... Again i would like to know why you would call an arena Bruce? This arena seem to be popping up quite oftern can sumone explain. An of corse an arena carnt coach. Do you not mean you carnt coach inside Bruce arena?
Re: Re: Re: The women just don't get it... You might be amused to hear that there's another arena named Kenny.
are Kenny and Bruce related? u crazy americans and your ways. I guess i will never understand why you name your arenas people names
There's plenty of diving etc. in the women's game in general and the WUSA in particular. It is just as much crap to have to put up with proponents of the women's game talking about how much better sports the women are (which really isn't all that true - as anyone who watched the Atlanta Cheat play last year can testify), or how much better their footskills are, or whatever, as it is to slam the women's game because they are slow, weak, and generally not as physically talented as men. If you like women's soccer, good for you. Don't try to sell it to me as if it's more 'clean' or 'pure' or 'skillfull' or anything else.
Here's the catch 22: which is on TV more, and why is that so? But also remember that part of PC is tradition, or the need to break it.
I suppose that is true, as it is for just about every country in this complicated world. But now we are sticking the big one up our problem's arse.
Re: Re: Re: Re: The women just don't get it... If you thought that was an exciting match, just watch any of the Carolina vs Atlanta games. There's bodies flying into sideline boards, bloody noses, defenders slamming forwards to the ground, and foreign as well as English profanities yelled in front of the camera what great games they are!
Re: Re: Re: The women just don't get it... Uhhh.... I'm afraid to answer this. Are you being sarcastic? ::
thats reminds me of Osvaldo Ardiles of the Argentina nat team ( ex Hotspur ) and i think its not going to ruin the game at all on the other hand, diving or pretending hurting like Rivaldo did during last WC makes me sick.
I think Thepremierleague come to us with a very English take on things. It is refreshing at times. He and I share a common interest in Nigerian football but for now we are debating other points. I think his general point, the lack of grass roots interest in women's sports in England and the U.S., has validity.
there's lots of interest in women's sports in the US, just not in professional sports. tell the 40-50% of girls in US high schools who participate in a sport that there's no 'grass-roots' interest.
Girls are interested not woman. When girls get older they forget about sports. That is why women's sports will never be successful.
there are plenty of women interested in sports, both following sports and participating. a lot of this is cultural conditioning - we won't really see how it actually shakes out until the generation that grew up after title 9 is old. i don't think women's sports will ever be particularly successful, either - but not because of lack of interest of women, because of lack of interest of men.
Oh I guess you like it when men are being big cry babies and wimps. Women are and always will be tougher than men. I'll take you and this kind of commentary seriously whenever you start to bear children.
Re: Re: The women just don't get it... You can blame the child bearing thing on one of your own: Eve.
