From the public comments about the players union making some "concessions," I feel like talks will either finish with a small step towards free agency or an extended strike if the players feel they've already conceded as much as they can. "Is there a labor crisis in America[n soccer] today?" "That depends on what you mean by crisis."
I just enjoy the irony of "Sticking to the Union" song at the end of the game. Now here we are, sticking to the Union
If there is a strike when are we officially going to find out...Because the only way I'm going to the game on Saturday is by calling out of work lol
That's good. No one really wants to mess with the opening game momentum surrounding the Orlando City - Man Citeh...err..NYCFC match. Teams not showing up would be pretty bad considering the amount of attention and excitement locally down there on that game.
http://www.espnfc.com/major-league-...-union-reach-agreement-on-new-cba-sources-say Welp. There it is. Now let met alter my original question lol I will be calling out of work for the season opener, my only decision now is whether or not to go to 'Stache Bash '15. Never been to a tailgate before, how easy is it to have a good time if you don't really know anyone there (yet). I have the gf on board to go to the first 2 games so far, but if I bring here to the tailgate are we going to be off by ourselves? lol Just trying to figure out how cliquey these things are, or are new people more welcome.
I started out going to tailgates by myself and had absolutely no problem falling in with multiple groups of people I now consider friends. I've heard some people complain about folks being cliquey, but that's never been my experience.
See I heard people say it's cliquey, but I wasn't sure if they felt that way because of their own behavior. My only thing is that my gf isn't the hugest soccer person, but she enjoys going to games every now and then. I just didn't want to drag her along to a tailgate too if she's going to be bored lol Also, any problem with away fans being there? I know other supporter groups have partied alongside the SOBs in the past, just curious because I have a good friend that is a NYCFC STH that might be coming down for the April 11th game.
I'm sure it can sometimes seem cliquey -- there are a lot of groups of close friends at the tailgate, and they naturally gravitate toward each other. But nearly everyone is very approachable and easy to talk to. Again, that's just my personal experience. Away fans at the tailgate is a trickier thing. I've seen people with opposing jerseys at tailgates talking with (those I assume are) their Union-fan/SoB friends. Also, I remember we hosted a bunch of Timbers Army members during one of our tailgates in 2011. However, aside from the Shertz memorial tailgate with DCU supporters, stuff like that has always been with non-rivals. I honestly have no idea where NYCFC falls in that regard.
Not sure where this goes topic-wise so I apologize if I'm I'm the wrong place here, but does Fios offer Unimas in HD? I'm not seeing it, anyone else who has Fios? Thanks
Not in the Philadelphia area. The MLS games look to also be on Univision-Deportes which is in HD but is part of the Spanish language package at extra cost. I was hoping that I might be able to stream those games in HD through the website and chromecast it, but I can't figure that out yet.

I couldn't give a shit less for that game. Ok, I lied. I'll be glued to the telly watching First Kick with giddy abandon.
