Youd think a fellow Columbian could show him around. Guti is a fellow Columbian..... I remember Conde telling Arroyve he hadnt seen much of the city. Visiting a few places such as Gibsons, Museum campus, Navy Pier, Taylor street, Wrigleyville, and Great America ,might have gone a long ways towards liking the city enough to forget about JCO. But A someone has to show you around B you cant be like JCO's wife and cry about the lack of Columbians and not venture out and see what the city hs to offer. Thats like those immigrants who come, never venture of 26th street, only watch TV in their native language, then complain how they dont like Chicago.
It seems to me that the first rule of obtaining help is asking the right person. On the one hand, I don't ever remember hearing that Guppy was the right person. On the other, I do remember hearing form a lot of players, old and new, that one of the things they found appealing about the Fire was the sense of family.
Are you kidding Blanco doe snot get this? Blanco has a personal assistant/gopher/body guard with him at all times he even sits on the bench.
he also has to hot ass Women assitants that acompany him to his everyday shopping and errans, (seened him couple times)
isn't like conde a young single guy??i think there is only acertain part of the city he actually wants to see, not great america...and the mall, etc. and that is the latin night club scene. we need to get him a hot latin girl, cuz maybe he is lonely.
Estoy en desaduerdo contigo. I disagree with you. MLS and Chicago have treated Conde like pure gold financially and as a human being, player and professional. HE is the one acting unprofessional staging this preseason show and making his teammates feel uncomfortable.
By the way, Conde was available to play last night. I think he is being punished and will probably play during the next game. Chicago Fire -- Jon Busch, Brandon Prideaux, Diego Gutierrez, Bakary Soumare, Gonzalo Segares, Tomasz Frankowski (Stephen King 46), Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Logan Pause, Justin Mapp, Chris Rolfe (John Thorrington 86), Chad Barrett (Calen Carr 72). Substitutes Not Used: Wilman Conde, Andy Herron, Nick Noble, Dasan Robinson
No hes married with two daughters. Last think he needs is to go to Green Dolplin, Transit, or 720 to get his a$$ kicked by gangbangers and hood rats.
If you're going to make statements like that written as though you have that information obtained through valid sources, you might want to use your real name and name your sources. Otherwise, it sounds incredible. As for sending Conde somewhere in MLS that is NOT NY, who would want him? If I were managing San Jose, or Houston, or somewhere else, why would I take the chance that Conde would be any happier than he is making out to be in Chicago? I don't know the ethnic makeup of Houston or Dallas or LA or San Jose (assuming he wants NY partly because of the Colombian population), but I'm guessing the Colombian population is no better in those markets than it is here. The only trade that makes sense is if NY is willing to give up someone of equal value. But if JCO hasn't pushed for that to happen by now I doubt he will. Conde needs to recognize that whatever he was promised but not put in writing by JCO, or Guppy or NYRB or Sam Giancana or Henry Frickin Kissinger, it ain't gonna happen. His only out at this point is to get healthy, find a way to get on the Fire's starting 11, and play his balls off for the rest of the year. Make it so that every club in the world wants this guy and the Fire can name their price for him. He gets out, the Fire don't lose out, and everyone is relatively happy.
COnde should rethink going to NJ Metro Bulls... It appears Karma really doesnt like JCO... Once again.. Ives is reporting that Altidore is out with Knee injury extent unk. That was great when the injuries affected NJ now his bad karma is f*cking with our Nats!!!!!!!
My baseless intuition, to add to yours, is that perhaps JCO promised him these things under Guppy's name. If you have proof Guppy stood in front of Conde and said all of this please do site your source and proof. Otherwise, Conde is still acting like a baby as far as I'm concerned. When he came here he was completely embraced by the fans immediately. His payback to us is to cry and ask to be sent back to his surrogate papa.
So looks like he's over his injury, Conde played the full 90 in the reserves game (had a goal and a assist in the game). So my question is, is he going to be in the starting 11 when we go to San Jose on the 12th. If we get him and Robinson back in the starting lineup and playing like there capable were going to have pretty good lineup from back to forward. Busch Robinson,Conde,Brown,Segares Rolfe,Pause,Blanco,Mapp Barrett,Frankowski With good options coming of the bench: Herron,Carr,Gutierrez,Thorrington,King,Menezes,Nyarko, and Soumare.
I would want more defense on the bench. One of the three forwards and Bruno will have to play reserves.
I was thinking more about Thursday. Considering this result, With Conde in back, what do we think about Marmol now?
I'm just wondering if this is going to be Conde's permanet status (bench players) for the whole year or until he expresses disire to play for Chicago?. He is making 160,000, no bad for a bench player.
With CJ Brown, Gutirrez, Robinson, Segares, and Pause all with injuries if Conde doesn't start (or for the very least play in this game) in this game that isn't a good sign.
This Guppy firing may be a get out of jail free card for Conde and the Fire. I gotta think Hamlett and the Fire want him to have a chance away from home to play his ass off. Then the fans at home might not climb all over him at home. They can all let it pass as a Guppy thing. Get him to sign a 1-year extension with the Fire and get a salary bump imediately. ... Ok, maybe that's going crazy, but I would bet he'll get significant time today, and will try to demonstrate committment, rather than disinterested play.
I think this has some validity. Go to the guy and lay it all out. Tell him this is a chance for a fresh start and we want you to play for our organization. If you show us a commitment to this team we will consider helping you get what you have been asking for (money, house, help, etc.). Shoot, they can even go as far as to lay it completely at the feet of Guppy by saying they will not treat him the way Guppy did, yada yada yada... It is probably the best chance the Fire have to get the best out of Conde (be it for one season or for more).
completely agreed ... let Conde know we want him and need him ... give him a lil bump in salary and have a happy columbian on our side ...
