She played defender with the WNY Flash in WPSL-Elite last season. Started every match.

She didn't play center back -- told us in preseason she had never played center back until this year.

Unless she mentally blocked out last season.

I don't think there are any bad locations in the stadium (well, except for some spots in the pressbox). Other than being at one end of the field, obviously, it's a good position.

That part is true, she played outside with the Flash. She was a defender though, honest! Ask Devo.

Speaking of blocking out, I noticed the Spirit didn't mention anything about it either in her bio on their site. Hmm...:sneaky:

Personally, I prefer Geha and her, but I know a lot of people want the professional duets. If the league's mission statement is partially "grass roots", then the color ladies are one part of the equation along with 2-3 locals on each roster. They're no worst than listening to Magic Johnson do color for the NBA. That's how i'd do it, if I had a franchise.

    Congratulations to the Spirit!
First Win on the Season! 4-2 vs Seattle.
Goals by Matheson, Krieger, McCarty and Huster for the Spirit!
Goals by Taylor and Noyola for Seattle!

Didn't FSU play Stanford in Atlanta a few years ago? Seems like a replay of the game with FSU winning this one. With some help from a few friends.

Who are you and what have you done with the Washington Spirit team that could only score one goal a game? ;)

Well, they certainly should have had more than just one goal against BOS last week!

Spirit owner Michele Kang heads to hospital to be with Jordan Baggett, who was taken by ambulance after the NWSL Challenge Cup final. Team statement: Baggett "has been taken to the hospital and is under evaluation. There is no further information at this time."

Mark Parsons is back in the #NWSL, joining the Washington Spirit as head coach. He most recently coached the Netherlands.
Parsons coached Washington from 2013-2015, before joining the Portland Thorns.

Has it been mentioned here yet that Amy Ray of Indigo Girls said at their recent show at Wolf Trap that she went to see the Spirit earlier in the day?

“Y’all have a good soccer team.”

Question for folks who have watched sports on Prime ...

I have Prime by accident, so cool that I have access to tonight's game.

Does Prime show replays after the game is finished or allow you to start a game in progress at the beginning?

NASCAR is on at the same time as the Spirit game so I'd like to watch the Spirit later - on a normal TV channel, I'd just record it, but Prime ain't normal.

If Prime doesn't do replays, I'll have to put it on on the downstairs TV and check the game during NASCAR commercials or something.

I don't have Prime anymore, but I do see the replays all hosted on NWSL+. I'm not sure how soon after the game they're available.

In case anyone was wondering - I was able to go over to Prime before the Spirit game was over - and it gave me the option of watching live or from the beginning - it did give me a brief view of "Live" just before that screen, but I had already muted and was trying to avoid looking in the upper left part of the screen so I did not see the score, just in case) - and unlike some streaming platforms when "starting from the beginning", it still let me FF thru stoppages and commercials - now, if the Spirit had been as accommodating to my viewing pleasure ... ;)
