    So that means:

GK: Moore, Solo, Schillig (call me a homer, but I'm glad Janel wasn't let go)
D: Mitts, Tietjen-Prozzo (since that's going to be on her uniform this year :) ), Benson, Kraus, Hall, Alfiler and Iverson (until she's gone)
MF: Tullock, Fair, Monroe, Smith, Makinen, Demko
    F: Pichon

    Draftees: Arrington, McVeigh, Misaki, Kruze
    Discovery Players: Scasna, Hoffmann

....and the 6 invited players who were talked about over the weekend. It really can't be said enough how draconian this roster limitation is for everybody in the league, and that it's there for absolutely no other reason than to cut costs.

i don't believe those who were reserves last year are counted either way - they aren't listed as waived, but they also don't count towards the 16. so i don't think demko, alfiler and hall and shillig are safe just yet. no one waived any of their reserves, so i think its just assumed they are available for the waiver draft.

It wouldn't make any sense to waive rostered players and keep reserves now would it? I heard a rumor that Alfiler was trying out for San Diego.

I would think that maybe it is implied that the reserves would not be a part of the team, that they have to "try out" once again at the start of every single season - at least that is how I would have thought it to be...

Alifer to SD, huh? thats a ball in the park. I would have thought that pia might want to work with her? But where do you guys hear these rumours?

If the 2002 reserves were in fact waived at the end of last season...

Then that changes the roster number drastically.

    GK: Moore, Solo
D: Mitts, Tietjen-Prozzo, Benson, Kraus, Iverson
MF: Tullock, Fair, Monroe, Smith, Makinen
    F: Pichon

    Draftees: Arrington, McVeigh, Misaki, Kruze
    Discovery Players: Scasna, Hoffmann

So that's 19, not counting the invited players, which include Hall and Schilig. Alfiler was not on the invited list, I realize that now...

The Washintgon Post reported this in today's editions: "Final WUSA rosters will include two reserve players and two developmental players, who will be eligible to play should a team's active roster fall below 16 players." So the lineup is 20, and who do the teams risk insulting by tagging as a 'developmental' player?

As for J T-P, at the season ticket holder party in October, I was under the impression Jen would have her married name on her jersey this season, like Justi Baumgardt-Yamada. Maybe there was a change of heart.

Alfiler in San Diego is far closer to Hawaii.

Where is her brother when you need him most.

That's a good pickup for San Diego, it true.
