There are times you almost forget about his German accent when he gets interviewed. It REALLY comes out when he's pissed. Though, yeah, that Brazil piece was excellent. Our team really gets to go into the World Cup without pressure despite the booming popularity. To start for Brazil is as much a burden as an honor. The segment with Julio Cesar was especially poignant.
Is it just me or does every Besler scene, or anytime Besler speaks, seems extremely scripted? Nothing else does, just Besler haha.
Jurgen on Portugal & Germany " I don't think they're better " I wonder what Klinsi has up his sleeve on this one

In looking at my ESPN channel guide, I think they are all on, in sequence, this afternoon starting @3pm and ending ith an 'epilogue' show that starts at 9?
BTW -- also just watched the ESPN Sports Center blurb from Ley, Lalas, Twellman and Keller. First, great that we have people in Brazil. Second is Lalas really that much of a doufus? He said he couldn't get his small American mind around the sophistication of Jurgen saying we can't win as a motivational tool for the team, or that he could be saying one thing publicly but another to the team. He doesn't pay much attention to sports in the US then. That happens ALL the time -- it's a pretty standard ploy in fact. Coach says one thing to the public to get remove unrealistic expectations from his team. Why does he have it in for Klinsmann? Sorry, that question is probably for another thread.
yes the tactic has been used many times. we cant win but we are not underdogs. we can beat anyone. etc etc. we cant win. we would have to play perfectly for 7 games... messages are sent all over. lalas is being a little obtuse.
ESPN announces Donovan will work as studio analyst for them during the WC: http://www.mlssoccer.com/worldcup/2...r-landon-donovan-provide-studio-analysis-espn We expected this, but still I thought I would post the official media release.
So in the United States, "USA" is the #1 response for "Who are you rooting against?" Nice. Thing is, I'm positive that is not all Mexico fans. There is a huge market for soccer in the US, but it is so fragmented that sometimes it can appear deceptively small.
