Sorry if this has been discussed to death, I've been avoiding this forum because it fills me with spiteful envy, but one thing I got really, really sick of in Korea was the "USA! USA!" chants ad infinitum. It was at the point where I yearned for USA sung to the tune of the tomahawk chant (I hate it when it's done at American sports games, but it seemed funny at a soccer game). It's too bad it can't be even slightly cooler, like "Daehanminguk".

Anyway, I suspect it will be the same again in Germany, especially outside of the hardcore sections, but I urge everyone to find other ways to cheer on our team.

I always thought it would be cool if we could sing America the Beautiful in unison for example.

If this should be merged or moved, please let me know.

Estados Unidos! (clap clap clap) Estados Unidos! :D

Whenever people try to manufacture cheers, I always think of the Spartan cheerleaders.

I couldn't agree more. While I love anyone that's going to be supporting the US in the stadiums while we're there... we can do much better than USA! USA!

Not that we should necesarily care, but the rest of the world is falling over with laughter when American sports fans start with the USA! grunting (it always reminds me of Karch Kiraly's psycho father at Olympic volleyball matches). Singing has gotten so much better with US fans in the last 5 or so years. If you don't know any proper football songs, just join in as best as you can.

Seriously, we need to find something, whatever it is, and settle on it. I want something to chant without sounding like an idiot, and USA! USA! USA! isn't it.

Huh??? Ohhhh, USA, USA, USA, USA. We are the US..the mighty mighty US? Its all the same US in every damn song. Other than a "Kasey, Kasey, give us a wave" there's barely anything for another player.

That said, normally during one minute of the match, Sam's Army will sing America the Beautiful, which is always nice.

Saw this in some where on the site...

"We come from far and wide to your country without a fear,
We sing and chant and party all night drinking all your beer,
In the morn' we raise Old Glory to a raucous ********in' cheer,
    Sam's Army marches on!

    CHORUS
    Glory, glory On-wey-u!
    Glory, glory On-wey-u!
    Glory, glory On-wey-u!
    Sam's Army marches on!"

and I'm trying to push this chant for Bruce Arena! (*note just hold the E on Bruce)

Who's the leader of the club
That's made for you and me
    B-R-U-C-E A-R-E-N-A
Hey! there, Hi! there, Ho! there
You're as welcome as can be
    B-R-U-C-E A-R-E-N-A

    Bruce Arena!

    Bruce Arena!

Forever let us hold our banner
    High! High! High! High!

Come along and sing a song
    And join the jamboree!
    B-R-U-C-E A-R-E-N-A

in Ktown, we were singing "when the saints go marching in" (with "yanks" instead of "saints") with a big group of soldiers near us

we also did a "we got gooch, yes we do, we got gooch, how 'bout you?" chant that the poles found funny

Stole a song from Celtic once and sing it at club games:

(if the boys are wearing blue, sing this, if not, change the words around to reflect the correct color)
    CMON YOU BOYS IN BLUE
    CMON YOU BOYS IN BLUE
    CMON YOU BOYS
    CMON YOU BOYS IN BLUE
    CMON YOU BOYS IN BLUE
    CMON YOU BOYS IN BLUE

That's what the English/Korean fans chanted during 1966 after North Korea went up 3-0 on Portugal... and I think we all know how that turned out.

    Don't use this chant!! :p

Block V-16 reporting in, I'm with you (except maybe "Easy...").

Also, any simple song will sound pretty good as long as you get enough to join in. Just keep easy and everyone knows most of the words. Pop songs, kids songs, whatever.

Maybe on the days we wear blue "

yo listen up here's a story
about a little guy that lives in a blue world
and all day and all night and everything he sees
is just blue like him inside and outside
blue his house with a blue little window
    and a blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and hisself
    and everybody around
cos he ain't got nobody to listen to

i'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

i have a blue team with a blue jersey.
blue (red?) is the colour of all that i wear.
blue are the streets and all the trees are blue.
i have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
blue are the people here that walk around,
blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
blue are the words i say and what i think.
blue are the feelings that live inside me.

Ok, maybe that's a little complicated. But everyone knows the verdammte chorus.

Away in the manger, no crib for a bed,

    "Oh when the Yanks
    Come marching in
Oh when the Yanks come marching in..." (and so on)

To the tune of WWF wrestler's "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's theme song "Money":

    Everybody's gonna cry
    Everybody's gonna pay
    Cause your national team
    Will never beat the USA!
    (evil laugh)

    original:

    Everybody's got a price
    Everybody's gonna pay
    Cause the Million Dollar Man
    Always gets his way!
    (evil laugh)

    Speaking of wrestling:

    "I am a real American
Fight for the rights of every man
    I am a real American
    Fight for what's right
    Fight for your life!"

You know what, Mean Gene? We're the baddest national team, brother! The training! The prayers! The vitamins! WHATCHA GONNA DO when our soccer team runs wild on YOU!
