If we had gotten the benefit of that PK call which was eventually ruled out by VAR, it might have been a different story, but alas this team is not very good.

15th plays 16th tomorrow so they’re going to be even further from safety after this weekend.

This transfer somehow gets dumber every time I’m reminded of it.

Not to revive the George Bello discussion from a year ago, but this really is following the exact same trajectory as his transfer.

    Yes..

The only difference is that Tolkin is starting just about every single game. Bello had fallen out of Arminia's starting XI as the team was crashing and burning.

I do think Tolkin is a better player than Bello

But I agree that this was a very bad move. He's going to have to move this summer.

If he gets picked up by a better first division team in the summer then maybe this move wasn’t so bad? Kiel may be looking for cash if/when they drop. Tolkin was a record transfer fee for them so they may be looking to recoup/sell if they can’t stay up.

Record transfer fees tend to correlate with record salaries.

With no parachute payments in Germany if they go down to the 3 Liga, they're going to raise cash urgently and Tolkin is likely to be one of their few saleable assets.

Even if they don't/can't sell him, they'll try damned hard to loan him out with the borrowing club paying the salary. He won't be playing in the 3 Liga next summer.

quite a fun match here...Bochum take a 2nd yellow, then actually tied it 2-2 off a DFK only to have Kiel go back ahead 2-3 now in the 74th minute.

Odd stat: Tolkin has missed 2 games and came off the bench in 1. Kiel have 7 points in those 3 games.
