I haven't seen a stand-out no.9 in what I have seen. But at this level, positions are never set in cement. I remember watching Anita play striker in u17 WC a couple of years ago.

That communicates disinterest for me and unprofessional attitude. I hope he gets a reprimand after this game.

Sheraldo Becker, but he's not in the team due to injury.

German keeper is playing games. That's professional. Van der Sar also started doing that later in his career. This guy is doing it at 17 years old. Good boy.

LOL....It's a good thing I'm not watching the Dutch feed then. 2-2. Ake hasn't look bad either.

Nah Haye was good, but Ake was very quiet for his standards. Ake was a lot better in the semi. He will still get player of the tournament I think due to his hype, practically all Dutch articles on UEFA.com were about him lol.

If Stuivenberg had just listened to us loyal followers and played Acolatse from the start, this tournament would've been a lot better from Dutch side.

We beat them in field play 2-1 and in penalty's and we had the best possession spell of the game in the first half. Total victory, but they are a good side.

However this is irrelevant if there are no players to harvest for the senior NT in time.

What are the outliers, or are there any outliers at all, that could become special for the senior team?

Haha. Finally . Germany beaten. But then there lost 2-5 the last time too. The U-17 sides can win the tournaments by beating the Germans, but the seniors get humiliated 0-3. Wow

Bazoer, Trindade, Aké I like most, not only baised on this tournament. Don't forget Bazoer is only 15. But it's hard to predict. Who guessed one year ago that Willems might play at the European Championship, even though he was a boss that tournament.

The problem for the Netherlands has never been producing top quality players that can rival or even top the best German players. The problem is that a big country as Germany does no have the weak spots in a team like the Netherlands. In a Dutch senior side you always have running around a couple of jokers. Now at left back (Bouma, not meaning Willems who is only to young IMO) and maybe even defense in general (though Heitinga did become player of the year at Everton). That's why we need to improve our education and produce better quality at a higher rate, to fill up those weak spots also. Winning this tournament back to back, is maybe a sign we are heading in the right direction, maybe it's nothing, like the back to back victory's at 21, couple of years back, did "nothing" for us.

Germany had a lot of 'short' kids... I always thought they liked tall kids.

Just got back from a great dinner in Rome abc and it was nice to see the result. I doing put much stock in these under age competition since so few players ever progress to the senior Nt

We just don't produce defenders. Well, good ones, at least.
