A US-born citizen was slain by an ICE agents several months ago in March 2025, the young man was Hispanic.

Martinez' fatal shooting case became public in Feb 2026, six days before a Texas grand jury refused to indict those ICE officers. Enough time has passed that his car companion and witness on that day died three days before the Texas grand jury decision (unrelated car accident).

Texas Department of Public Safety released body cam video showing Martinez was killed in different circumstances to what ICE documents alleged.

Before we return to shallow observations like: "no press coverage due to skin tone", "ICE protests were about dead white US citizens", "his mom voted for Trump, there you go".... does anyone know whether the murder investigations of two US citizens in Minnesota have made any progress?

First, not sure where you are getting the tone/message of this forum based on what you put in quotes. The "no press coverage" is incorrect, both from what reality and from what we say. We have consistently said "lack of press coverage due to skin tone," though it is a point debated. The question, though, isn't about the press coverage, but about the outrage. Regarding the "ICE protests were about dead white US citizens"...huh? Nobody has said anything close to that in this forum. We have long talked about protests in various locations for months and months prior to the killings of Good and Pretti. As to the "his mom voted for Trump" bit, that is usually only from a couple of posters. If that comes up in discourse in general, it is because there is something that raises a question to us, in general.

Second, depends on what you mean by "progress" and what the starting is from which you are asking. For example:
https://www.lawfaremedia.org/article/lawfare-daily--the-trials-of-the-trump-administration--feb.-6 (I read the transcript for this part)

Roger Parloff: Yeah, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which is the body that normally helps investigate these sorts of cases sued to when they were excluded from the crime scene—they had actually, I think we mentioned last week, they actually got a search warrant, even though it was a public space. But they could, would not, were not allowed in.

They had obtained a TRO last week to prevent destruction or altering of the evidence. That was before the government had even filed a response. So the government did file a response. And then there was a hearing—and also it, so the government wanted to dissolve this, and the bureau wanted to also get additional access to the evidence.

The judge dissolved the TRO and did not give them access. It's Eric Tostrud, he is a Trump appointee. He said, though the record is not one-sided, the greater weight of the evidence shows defendants are not likely to destroy or improperly alter evidence related to Mr. Pretti's shooting during the life of this case.

So, yeah there is some progress as in there are steps being taken to move this forward. But there is also no progress because the judge, at least in the Pretti killing, is saying that evidence does not need to have a TRO to preserve evidence.

Pretty much. It has been reported that there were a number of factors he didn't like, but what caused him to fire her from Homeland was the response to the $200m in advertising, saying that Trump approved it.

"Lack of coverage" might apply to that US citizen's case: murdered 364 days ago, press coverage started 19 days ago.

His murder occurred outside the sphere of social media, which helps explain why press coverage started after Newsweek staff obtained ICE data through an FOIA request.

All forum members are entitled to their opinion. Mine is that opportunistic commentary on this thread was rather frequent before my post. Meanwhile, one US citizen murder case is now effectively buried, while two more are in progress of being silenced.

Thanks very much for providing the information about Pretti's case suppression at a federal level, despite state agencies' efforts. Hopefully, it will be overturned before enough time passes when even witnesses pass away, like in Martinez' case.

Help the US fight against Al Queda. Made a resident of US for your efforts. Arrested by ICE and killed in custody during deportation efforts for being brown.

Well done, ICE + DOJ. From Xwitter

Federal prosecutors move to dismiss another Midway Blitz indictment, this time against Jose Mauricio Rosas-Hernandez.

Once the motion is granted, 20 of the 32 known defendants will have been cleared.

Two more are on track for dismissal.

    It was dismissed today.

This mothe********er is retiring.....You can run but you can't hide though......

“Outspoken Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino is retiring from federal service at the end of this month, after being pulled away from a high-profile role leading immigration raids in major U.S. cities,” CBS News reports.

He's retiring because he got pushed out. Glad he's gone. Now, he just needs a serious investigation.

I haven’t even gotten to the meat of the article, I’m only a few paragraphs in. The discussion of prison design is amazing, nd worth your time.

That's a very unique case. The rest of the article highlights how Corporate America will keep working with ICE if it means higher profits.

Rand Paul is probably going to vote against Mullin’s confirmation, but Fetterman is probably going to vote the other way. That would mean Mullin gets out of committee by a single vote. ******** you Fetterman. I hope they go after your formerly undocumented wife, you volunteer for the leopard’s menu.

Now, maybe there would still be a way for Thune to get the nomination out of committee. So maybe Fetterman’s approval just moves the nomination along a bit faster. I stand by my previous statement…******** Fetterman.

    This is fine.

ICE is collecting DNA from people. I'm sure nothing nefarious is happening there.

Don't they need a warrant to collect that evidence (to use legally)?

By this point, it’s no longer possible to say, “but he’s better than Dr. Oz.”

EDIT: worth pointing out that I have in fact argued that he is better than Dr. Oz

Should've been his house and not Shapiro's. Should've been his legs pinned to a retaining wall and not Rebecca Bunten's.

Actually, you can say he has been better than Dr. Oz. It is unclear if that will be the case moving forward.
