This is what i said the other day.

It's insane to do this, and support the war. Just shows a complete lack of character and self delusion about what time it is

This is my issue with elevating political outsiders. Legislating isn’t easy. It takes work. It creates a record you need to defend. Publicly bloviating about what politicians are doing wrong is easy. That’s why we all do it here part time while keeping our day jobs. Proposing legislative solutions that are both workable and can actually get passed is the hard part. Fetterman’s pre senate career was as a mayor of a town with less than 2000 people. He positioned himself as sweatshirt wearing redneck man of the people to the Pennsyltucky crowd and parlayed that into a Lt Governor role with zero real responsibility. He then got those same people to elevate him to a senate role. I still maintain he hasn’t changed. This was who he always was. A contrarian dickhead.

I don’t know. As a Pittsburgher, as I don’t think there was any reason to doubt Fetterman’s progressivism before he got to the senate. My sister, a lesbian, has a picture with him at the Pittsburgh Pride parade from before same sex marriage was legal in the state. And he ran for senate before in 2016 and lost because he was seen as too far left. You’re right that he didn’t have a packed CV, but in today’s political world, being a mayor and then lieutenant governor is reasonably substantial.

I think his stroke/depression really did fry his brain a bit, and he has some weird idea that being a Manchinist Democrat is the path to reelection (it’s not).

(unconfirmed) Apparently Markwayne Mullin found out he was taking over as DHS Director via the press. I am surprised he found out this way, but somehow completely expected it from this administration.

Now that the first top-level dismissal has occurred, I assume that other major positions will start falling like dominoes, much like his first term. Honestly, I am surprised Kegstand wasn't let go after the signal fiasco.

IIRC there were a lot of "acting directors" at the end of the first Trump term. I looked it up and Trump went through 4 AGs in his first term.

Sarah Longwell ( The Bulwark ) astutely posited that Noem's one reason for getting the ax was that during the last congressional hearing she claimed that Trump was aware of the self-promotion scam she was perpetrating with DHS money. She was not cutting Trump in on the grift and when he heard that on TV, he decided to get her out.

Good call. Ties in with a comment I made in the last couple of days where I observed all of his psychophants (tm) publicly state things like “at president trumps direction I…..”. Trump eats that shit up until the point it starts hurting him. Then he drops them.

As bad as Trump is…it is inconceivable to me that he is down into the details of all the shit people like Hegseth and Miller are doing. Not only because I think he is not mentally capable of doing so. He’s not. And he’s too stupid to allow in people who will speak to the downside risks of things his psychophants want to implement.

Take this Iran shit as an example. There is zero chance anyone told Trump if this doesn’t go well we’re looking at a disaster and you’ll be blamed. So what’s gonna happen is once the disaster becomes unavoidable….hegseth is gonna end up in the leopards thread. Sure…some he may send some generals there first…but they’ll all eventually end up there when the damage gets too great.

And it will be bad for them. To his cult…he is incapable of making bad decisions. It will obviously be he was poorly advised or lied to…because he is prefect. None of his cult will acknowledge he’s the one that chose his advisors and spent the entire time chasing out and firing anyone who didn’t tell him exactly what he wanted to hear.

God did the funniest thing to Markwayne last night

Thunderstorms ripped across Oklahoma prairies Thursday night as severe weather was expected to intensify Friday and bring the threat of powerful tornadoes to multiple states in the nation’s heartland.

I always think back to how Sessions was fired during Trump's first term - via Xwitter. That is how I expect all the hiring and firing to occur. More so now because Trump's brain is melting from the inside.

Yeah, I thought that that too, at the time. But now I'm thinking that it will be somebody like Bondi or Patel (and woman or a POC). Sec Kegstand will survive because he is a TV guy, is "manly," and doesn't really make Trump look bad. Same for guys like Sec. Brain Worm. In Cuba is invaded, as soon as a new leader is installed, I think Rubio will quit.

I think that is right. As for the AGs, when Sessions was fired, it was unplanned, mostly, and Trump needed to have somebody stand in until the Barr could get confirmed. And I'm assuming your list doesn't include Rosenstein or the guy from Energy or Interior or some place like that who was there for a couple of hours after Barr (I think that is the timeline). But, if you want to be technical, Trump has something like 7 or 8 AGs, just that two were transition (from Obama and to Biden) and then one-day Rosenstein, and that guy from Energy or Interior for a couple of hours. And then the guy post Barr.

Ah, looked it up and the guy I'm thinking of is Jeffery Clark, who mostly had a career in the Environmental and Natural Resources division.

I thought it was pretty well accepted that Kennedy is doing an act.

Ron Johnson is a shit. I'd rather have Hawley as a neighbor. Ron Johnson was dumb enough to have a conversation fact-to-face with somebody who was known (at the time) to be involved the pre-2020 election fake elector scam. He was able to get by it saying he was "only" introduced, but he's an idiot.

I know what you are intending, but I think we can do better than laughing at natural disasters that can (and do) kill people.

As much as I'd like to protest, I would not be surprised if he got rid of a woman (Bondi and Tulsi G are my picks) or POC (Kash Patel) first. Sec Kegstand can and will do more damage but since he has better camera experience, he will more likely stay. If this operational strike/war/targeted strikes/whatever you want to call/ start to go past a month, Kegstand will find himself in the hot seat. Right now, they can't even tell us what our goals are or give us a unified message for why we are bombing Iran.

Trump did get rid of the person in charge of the Bureau of Labor Statistics in a high profile spat last year.

I just realized I missed on more than a few interim guys. I remember the Keebler elf, someone between Sessions and Barr, and Rosen or Rosensten, who was there long enough to take a full spin through the revolving door.

Tulsi is doing a good job flying below the radar, so doubt she's at the top of the list. Additionally, she was recently in Georgia promoting the stolen election of 2020/Russia Hoax.

She was a highly respected by peers, very skilled, very popular, unqualified DEI hire. Of course she had to go.

If I get bored, I should take a look at Trump's first term and see how many were "Acting" and how big the turnover was. And compare it to both Biden's term and the current shit who of AUSA's who have been "acting" and fired. From what I have heard, it is a shit show.

“A pending green card application and work authorization does NOT give someone legal status to be in our country,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told CNN.

At the rate things are going, ya gotta wonder if it's just a matter of time until they deport athletes.

There's a female comedian who lives and grew up in Nashville, I think, whose parents are from somewhere in CA (Mexico, I think). And she looks so very Latina. Catch clips of her every now and then, and took me a while to get past the confusion of her speaking with a southern drawl. Now, I just laugh at it.
