Never heard of Gainesville, Texas. Evil has resided there for quite some time. According to Wikipedia In October 1862, during the Civil War, Confederate authorities in Cooke County arrested about 150–200 men suspected of Unionist sympathies. A “Citizens’ Court” of local men - lacking legal authority - convicted many of them of treason. Under mob pressure, executions escalated: 41 were hanged in Gainesville and at least two others killed elsewhere, making it the largest mass hanging in U.S. history.[15] Afterward, Confederate leaders shut down the court, and thousands fled North Texas. A 1964 state marker defended the executions,. . .

It is almost as if these policies were not thought through... Democrats and Republicans issue H-1B warning to Kristi Noem The letter to Noem was signed by 100 Members of Congress over concerns about the impact of the fee on the health care workforce. Signatories include Democratic lawmakers such as Kirsten Gillibrand, Judy Chu, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bennie Thompson, as well as Republican members including Brian Fitzpatrick, Thomas Kean Jr., Jefferson Van Drew and James Moylan. Lawmakers warn that the fee could worsen staffing shortages by preventing hospitals from filling essential positions. “Rural hospitals and urban safety net hospitals face uncommon recruitment and retention issues and will most acutely feel the effects of the $100,000 fee. These hospitals rely heavily on the H-1B visa to maintain adequate staffing and offer comprehensive services in high-need areas,” the lawmakers wrote. The lawmakers warn that the $100,000 fee could ultimately result in hospital funds being redirected away from patient care and recruitment, adding pressure to institutions that are already operating under constrained budgets. “If these hospitals cannot petition for new H-1B visas to address their staffing needs without also having to pay this fee, it will further damage their financial viability. Critically needed open positions will simply go unfilled, leaving rural and high-poverty urban areas without adequate access to care,” lawmakers said. Or maybe they are...
ICE is moving on (NYT Live feed) https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/02/12/us/trump-news The Trump administration said on Thursday that it was ending its deployment of immigration agents to Minnesota, unwinding an aggressive operation that has stretched for more than two months despite loud opposition from residents and local officials.
Where's her fertility blanket? A pilot fired over Kristi Noem’s missing blanket and the constant chaos inside DHS After tabloid photos of Lewandowski showed him going back and forth between his apartment and Noem’s across the street last year, the secretary moved into a government-owned waterfront house on a military base in Washington that is provided to the leader of the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard falls under Noem’s purview at DHS during peacetime. Lewandowski also spends time at the house. The DHS spokeswoman said Noem moved to the house for increased security and pays rent. Lewandowski and Noem, who are both married, have publicly denied the reports of the affair, but people said they do little to hide their relationship inside the department. The DHS spokeswoman said the department “doesn’t waste time with salacious, baseless gossip.” The pair have lately been using a luxury 737 MAX jet, with a private cabin in back, for their travel around the country, according to people familiar with the matter. DHS is leasing the plane but is in the process of acquiring it for approximately $70 million. DHS has previously used other planes through the Coast Guard or other agencies for the secretary’s use. __________________________________________ Noem and Lewandowski’s management of DHS resources in particular has caused concern inside and outside the administration. Noem has put all department spending over $100,000 under an approval process that has held up contracts across DHS, which is flush with recently appropriated billions from the president’s major legislative package last year, the “one big, beautiful bill.” The approval process has given Noem and Lewandowski an opportunity to play a bigger role in the department’s spending decisions than is typical for a secretary. Given Lewandowski’s continuing business interests in the private sector, his role in awarding contracts has raised alarm bells inside the White House and DHS. Several officials inside the department said contracts and grants are being awarded in an opaque and arbitrary manner, and some are being held up without explanation. Lewandowski has urged officials to move away from continuing long-term contracts with companies toward new ones. Some said allies of Noem and Lewandowski also instructed high-level staff to meet with particular companies for services that other contractors have previously carried out. __________________________________________ Within DHS, Noem and Lewandowski have cut employees or put them on administrative leave. The pair have fired or demoted roughly 80% of the career ICE field leadership that was in place when they started. In the blanket incident, Noem had to switch planes after a maintenance issue was discovered, but her blanket wasn’t moved to the second plane, according to the people familiar with the incident. The Coast Guard pilot was initially fired and told to take a commercial flight home when they reached their destination. They eventually reinstated the pilot because no one else was available to fly them home. ____________________________________________ In an incident last year that rankled some senior staff at the agency, Lewandowski made it known to top ICE officials that he wanted to be issued a law-enforcement badge and a federally issued gun, according to people familiar with his push. Officials are typically only issued a badge and a gun after undergoing law-enforcement training. Lewandowski next turned to ICE’s legal office for help writing him a legal justification to be issued the badge and gun. A top ICE lawyer, Ken Padilla, also declined to sign off, and days later he was placed on administrative leave. He was later demoted and moved to FEMA, the people said. Padilla declined to comment. Lewandowski eventually persuaded other lawyers to sign off. The ICE director’s autopen was used to sign the paperwork, the people said.
Well, not fertility because she's past that age, but they probably use that thing for their "internal affairs".
https://apnews.com/article/school-i...cher-lawsuit-d8bbe16b0782a4532e312e7c81e2be65 In one testimonial after another, teachers detailed all the ways President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown has shaped their work and the lives of their students. In a court filing Thursday, educators around the country described rumors of immigration raids that scared away students, immigrant parents who stopped sending their children to school altogether, and stories of parents and students — including one middle schooler — being picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at school bus stops. To those who have never taught, or even been directly involved in schools, I don't think how many problems this causes to schools (principals, VPs, school counselors, teachers, and other students) will be fully grasped.
Saw a clip of kids in Camden County NJ running from a bus stop because ICE showed up. The terrorism continues.
Guess what! More immigration agents have been caught in lies in events where they shot people!! 1. 2 federal agents have been placed on leave after it was revealed that they lied on an FBI affidavit around the events leading up to them shooting and detaining 2 immigrants in Minneapolis shortly after Rachel Good was shot and killed. The article does not say what about the encounter with the 2 immigrants the agents lied about, but it was enough that the US Attorney filed a request to dismiss the charges with prejudice (meaning the charges cannot be refiled). https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...inneapolis-fbi-shooting-venezuelan-rcna258870 While the article above doesn't say what the agents lied about, I'm pretty sure we can figure it out. The shooting happened during a traffic stop and the agents claimed they were attacked with a shovel and a broom. So, in all likelihood, a video showed up showing that the men did not actually attack the agents with a shovel and a broom. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/minneapolis-shooting-dhs-rcna254150 2. A trove of video, texts, and other documentation was released yesterday about the shooting of a woman in Chicago late last year. At the time, the agents claimed that the woman attempted to assault officers with her car and that they shot her in self defense. The charges against her were dismissed back in November, but yesterday the judge in the case ordered that the evidence the feds had in the case be released. The most damning of the evidence comes from the body cam from the vehicle the agents were in prior to the shooting. In the video, what can be seen is the agents have their guns drawn before they even attempted to perform the traffic stop, one of the agents then says "It's time to get aggressive" because they were about to be boxed in . The driver then appears to turn the steering wheel towards the woman's car initiating the collision with her car. The agents then jump out of the car and start opening fire almost immediately. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...atrol-exum-body-cam-texts-released-rcna258549
Somewhat related, and specific to Minnesota: https://www.politico.com/news/2026/...stration-denying-immigration-lawyers-00779762 A federal judge ruled Thursday that the Trump administration has been violating the rights of people detained by ICE in Minnesota, saying the agency had stashed them in an ill-equipped, overcrowded facility without access to attorneys. U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel said it appeared the Trump administration had surged law enforcement into the Twin Cities without accounting for “the constitutional rights of its civil detainees” held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “The government suggests—with minimal explanation and even less evidence—that doing so would result in ‘chaos,’” wrote Brasel, an appointee of President Donald Trump. “The Constitution does not permit the government to arrest thousands of individuals and then disregard their constitutional rights because it would be too challenging to honor those rights.” The judge ordered the administration to dramatically revamp conditions in the Bishop Henry Whipple federal building, and provide routine and unmonitored phone access to detainees, including the chance to alert attorneys and family members at least one hour before being transferred out of state. And the article has a whole lot more. Sets a good precedent.
Yes. Lying in an FBI report is a federal crime, shooting civilians for *checks notes* driving their car bear you is attempted murder or murder, etc, etc.
Violation of Human Rights in the treatment of prisoners. Shoulder to shoulder, inability to sleep, lack of toilet, etc.
Uhm, no. However I would be certain they're crimes against humanity. But your lot doesnot recognize the ICJ and it happens within the USA against US citizens. I wonder, when done against citizens of another country, complaints about it by their country would be deemed to fall under the jurisdiction of The Hague.
But it gets worse as it always does. Expect many more of these stories https://bsky.app/profile/mikehixenbaugh.com/post/3merb6h3yq22v A TOTL won't be cruel like this, unfortunately. But I'd be happy as hell to be the Punishment Czar for TrumpCo
If the entire premise of all of this is that we are being invaded by a foreign army and that the executive branch needs war powers to defend the country then, yes, we are at war. You don't get to invade a city on the premise that we are at war and then say that we aren't at war. Pick one.
IF we were at war and the government did this to civilians on the other side THEN we would have war crimes. My point is, if things like what ICE is doing domestically were being done internationally, there would be grounds for severe repercussions. I'm aware this is not international, just pointing out that it's very, very, very bad what's going on.
Just to note, Jorge Rafael Videla died in prison having been convicted of crimes against humanity. Technically, not war crimes, but I think it should be recognized as on a parallel level as it is domestic and not international. The problem, I think, relates back to our labeling this administration as Nazis, which brings thoughts about WWII and Nuremberg and the Geneva Convention, all of which defined war crimes. But a major component of that is an international aspect, not a domestic aspect. Regarding what ICE is doing is very much a domestic act, which is more to the tune of Crimes Against Humanity. And to tie this in with my other, continuing point, we have a casual acceptance in the use of violence everywhere. So many times we talk about the use of violence externally and then collectively shrug our shoulders. We have bombed various locations externally (think Syria, Yeman, Iran, etc) or responded in a violent manner (think the abduction of the former Venezuelan President) and just shrug our shoulders and move on. We, as a country, don't take these acts seriously, so when it happens domestically, we don't have a basis to understand what is happening. As an example, how many people did ICE shoot (injure and/or kill) before Rene Good? It took us so long to recognize what was happening because, as a society, we don't have a context to what is happening, internally. Now, our responses (specifically here on BS) are varied. Some are angry, some our frustrated, some are worried, some know this is the norm. But, as a whole, we have demonstrated what our society accepts - violence is a normal part of life and not something to take all that serious. FFS, people are still arguing that the death penalty is legit. It doesn't get more casual than that. So, to conclude, our casual acceptance of violence in both internal and external use do not give us the context to be able identify what is happening by ICE as Crimes Against Humanity. Our only context is external, which is War Crimes. Somebody should ask Jack Smith about that.
