One of the reasons being complaints that the old flag was racist as it prominently featured the old state seal which depicted a scene related to the Manifest Destiny, which resulted in many NDN tribes refusing to fly the state flag due to the impact that the Manifest Destiny had on them. More incidents of ICE lawlessness. ICE agents surrounded a house and started pointing their guns at the occupants yelling at them to bring everyone out of the house. At one point, an ICE agent with a shield and a gun enters the garage (without a warrant) to detaine the teenage son of the house occupants. See the movement out of LA. And then Chicago. And then Chicago. They'll be gone from Minneapolis soon and on to some other place. All before the courts can solidify how the agents, both individually, and as an organization, are behaving illegally. And you should go back and read The Slate article I posted. It's very difficult to sue the federal government and federal agents. It also takes time, but yes.. I am also surprised that there haven't been lawsuits filed against ICE and ICE agents for some of the crap they are doing. Particularly the crap they are doing to US citizens.
The operation in Maine would be a great opportunity for one of the Democratic Senate candidates to show their leadership by organizing protests against ICE. But Governor Mills hasn't done anything except express her concern and ask ICE not to violate citizens' rights, and Bernie-endorsed Graham Platner just keeps asking for money.
Their goal is to dehumanize all those groups they deem non-white. This a slippery slope that will not stop with immigration status. Any person with an ounce of melanin, or an accent should be ready for ICE to try to stomp on them.
