My minimal hope would be that those who haven’t gotten the full benefit lose whatever loan forgiveness / signing bonus they were promised, much like all the professionals had happen for school loan forgiveness for working for under served communities.

True, but I still will remind myself that they will have some kind of "law enforcement" on their resume and will still be able to find a job with some kind of police department.

Y'all are way too nice towards them. FURY has the right idea: take soldiers prisoner if possible. SS have no use.

  10. It's at a point you really need to start shooting them on sight.

  11. You have long range rifles with excellent scopes to take them out from a long distance. Put the fear of lead into their skulls.
They enjoy putting fear in innocent people, treading on their legal rights...let them feel how that is like...feeling outlawed in the street at a sniper's bullet speed.

Yes.. That will go over well with a President that is itching to declare martial law.

Yeah, I've seen Andor. Nope, that's exactly what Miller would want.

Has anybody ever in the world declare martial law in a huge country with more guns in da house than inhabitants of it?

Miller would sacrifice anyone to make that happen.

I don't think Trump, or much of anyone else, is willing to go that far out on a limb. Too much potential of it blowing up in their faces. There's too many grifters, con artists, and sycophants who couldn't tell you their a****le from a spoon that are running key institutions to pull that off.

  17. Do you actually have enough soldiers in the States themselves to be able to do a real Martial law thing?

That's exactly why it could be pulled off. There's no such thing as too far for Trump.

I'd argue we do not have a large enough army to fully suppress an open revolt in our Biggest 5 cities. Individually. Much less collectively.

So long as he gets pat on the head, sure.

But you're talking about putting his neck on a chopping block and hoping the executioner is on his side. Trump is a coward. Always has been. Christ he couldn't even fire people in person for his stupid show. You're not talking about half assing the guard deployments going on now, which is for show.

You're talking about mobilizing the entire Armed Forces against their own people. That's another level. Heck even with current deployments, local police are turning on him. Without the majority support of local cops it is physically impossible to do Martial Law.

Are those all battle ready soldiers, or does it include administration, cooks etc.?

He's already mobilizing the Armed Forces against his own people. He also doesn't need to use them against the entire country. One thing the last few weeks of Trump federalizing the National Guard is that half the country cheers it only and a significant chunk of the rest of the country is ambivalent.

They cheer a couple hundred guys picking up trash and standing around. Martial Law is a lot more hands on and would require extreme use of force due to the backlash. One guy was able to lock down one of the largest armed forces on earth for weeks:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Dorner_shootings_and_manhunt

The level of escalation for Martial Law would rachet up the tension amongst local, county, and state leaders towards the Fed dramatically. There would be standoffs with cops and National Guard units against Army units and that ain't going to have a happy ending.

Again, Miller wants this. He dreams of bathing in the blood of people he hates. Trump could be conned into it but he ideologically wants to be told he's a good boy, not face the consequences of a failed, extremely violent occupation of the US (in which they don't have the forces to pull off).
