And I would argue that some are good, some are bad, but most are just doing their job. The problem is that the bad ones are not incompetently bad, but intentionally bad and fight that fight, strongly. And, they are protected by the union (for various reasons, not all of them corrupt reasons).

But bad cops continuing to be able to be on the job and stay on the job is a major problem.

Staying on the job or, when they get fired for abuse above and beyond the call of decency, they get another job instantly somewhere else.

Most journalists aren't journalists: they're stenographers printing what their corporate overlords want to increase stock prices.

I disagree with your theory. The kind of person who would consider becoming a police officer in 2025 is extremely likely to be a bad person. Then the police indoctrination program is going to sift out more good people. I don't necessarily believe that American cucumbers are bountiful...but most are.

I may take issue with “most,” but “many” would draw no criticism from me.

It's not SK that's reeling. They'll just rebuild in a first world country

  7. Well, they won't last long into the near future, as AI can do their job of mouthpiecing this way as well and costs next to nothing.

You're not wrong, though I'd say "ai" costs a lot more in the long run. Typical of current capitalism though: short term profits over everything, be it life, the environment, anything.

    It's a death cult.

    Dearest Eun-jee,

I write you from this ICE facility in Georgia. I was picked up at the plant and handcuffed like a common criminal. There are 70 of us housed in one large hall with only 4 toilets! It's cold and we are running low on supplies. They taunt us by calling us "North Koreans" I miss you so, my love. If I am released I swear I am never coming back to this Godforsaken land!

    Love,
    Ha-joon

Federally backed liability insurance for municipalities/counties/cities whose police departments are certified to minimum (nationally harmonized) standards for training, discipline procedures, incident reporting and hiring practices etc. Periodic performance and recertification audits. Lose your certification…lose our insurance and your tax payers are left footing the bill when you’re sued and lose. Hire a non- certified police officer….lose your insurance. Fail to report a fired officer to a database that allow others to maintain good hiring practices ? Lose your insurance. Get caught sweeping shit under the rug? Lose your insurance

Works great until this country decides….******** it…let’s put the fascists in charge of developing those insurability requirements. Could have worked in the before times.

    Welcome to the future!!!

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/digital/ai-podcast-start-up-plan-shows-1236361367/

The company is able to produce each episode for $1 or less, depending on length and complexity, and attach programmatic advertising to it. This generally means that if about 20 people listen to that episode, the company made a profit on that episode, without factoring in overhead.

Inception Point AI already has more than 5,000 shows across its Quiet Please Podcast Network and produces more than 3,000 episodes a week. Collectively, the network has seen 10 million downloads since September 2023. It takes about an hour to create an episode, from coming up with the idea to getting it out in the world.

The company produces different levels of podcasts. The lowest level involves weather reports for various geographic areas or simple biographies and higher levels involving subject-area podcasts hosted by one of about 50 AI personalities they’ve created, including food expert Claire Delish, gardener and nature expert Nigel Thistledown and Oly Bennet, who covers off-beat sports.

Liddle Marquitos de Santiago de Cuba released this

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said the United States has begun revoking the visas of individuals found celebrating the killing of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

"America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens," Rubio wrote on X.

"Visa revocations are under way. If you are here on a visa and cheering on the public assassination of a political figure, prepare to be deported. You are not welcome in this country," he continued.

Newsweek contacted the State Department for comment outside regular working hours.

I I was about to say that Rubio was talking BS but no, it looks like there is an issue. He is probably referring to this:

You could be barred from a grant of asylum if we find that you:
That's for grant of asylum. Green card holders have a different process.

That said, any visa holder of any type can be stopped at a port of entry. This is true for any country because you haven't technically entered the country. My brother in law, for instance, was denied entry because at the last minute he cracked a mild, silly joke. It can be that petty. He was able to get a second interview by saying that he believed he was racially profiled but that's the UK. They can also demand to see your phone and review the social media. This is why green card holders prefer to not leave the US until they have citizenship. However, citizenship can be denied for "moral character" also.

Don't even know where to put this it could go in so many places.

An immigrant college student was found hanging from a tree on campus.

    https://www.wlbt.com/2025/09/16/what-we-know-about-hanging-deaths-two-men-mississippi/

I'm sure a black man hanging from a tree in Mississippi will be given a thorough, complete investigation. The funny part is a congressman asking the FBI to investigate. I got bad news for you buddy. They're more like 50s/60s era FBI than the recent variety.

The second is a white man:

Yeah, Patel and co. will be relatively desperate to prove it’s a suicide and not murder, in order to sustain their narrative about political violence.

Ben Crump's working for Trey's family, and conservatives are already up in arms because the White victim's family either couldn't afford him or didn't want him or didn't get to him on time

    https://m.economictimes.com/news/in...0nomWTxpoDHM7RIY-W_aem_UahrDvLhvuIXANda8ppKrg

Local police ruled it a suicide. Cousin states he had bruises and broken bones.

Coroner report is pending. Really hope the family gets a private autopsy.

Not what’s in the article lol

    1. A TikTok user claiming to be a cousin said

    2. another cousin had seen reports

    3. of those injuries

It’s less reliable than the alleged text exchange involving Tyler Robinson! And most of us here aren’t buying that one.

Some of yall have lost all critical thinking skills under Trump.

Or maybe y’all never had them, and you’ve found your safe space here lol

Anyway, file this one under “interesting if true. But probably not true.”

PS Orange aren’t you the same guy who said patrol rates in minority neighborhoods had nothing to do with crime rates? Or was that someone else?

You mean the post where I dissected show laws are written to punish black people easier and harder than white, that police over police black neighborhoods and haul folk in for anything? That white crimes are written to make it hard to prove a crime happened and cops don't patrol their neighborhoods to catch crime we know happens at similar rates? And when they can't be proven the rate of crime in white neighborhoods stays low?

    Nah, couldn't have been me.

No, the posts where you completely moved the goalposts to more comfortable ground. I talked about the crime of murder because it’s the one crime immune to reporting rates.

I decided last year I’m going to cut way back on arguing about whether or not 2+2=4. If someone writes 2+2=5, I just point it out, but I don’t do the back and forth anymore.

But yeah, 2+2 does equal 4. You can have the last word.

When a white CEO kills dozens or hundreds, that's never classified as murder, biasing the murder rate. That's the last word.

Let's argue about this more in the camps! Make those hot summer nights more manageable.
