Mostly to use the federal government to support advanced Small Modular Reactors via public private partnership, with help from Congress (where, fortunately, nuclear remains one of the few remaining points of bipartisan support). Trump signed the NEIMA in 2019 which helped pave the way for more advanced SMRs, and support is likely to continue through that framework and through other bipartisan pro nuclear initiatives, like the Advance Act. There are more details re: the nuclear outlook under a Trump administration here. Trump is not opposed to nuclear energy, his administration was very supportive in his first term and all indications point to more of the same in term 2.
