I don't know the particulars, but generally speaking it's deemed more of a problem to use identity-based slurs. That particular word fits into that category, as it attacks someone for who they are, rather than criticizes actions. It's also more problematic if someone is just trying to piss people off. This isn't a rivalry forum. And you should take further questions about this either to the person who warned you or to the customer service forum.
