John Edwards never became President because once his baggage spilled out into the open, Democrats dumped him and never looked back. But Donald Trump's supporters changed the entire Republican Party from being a bunch of Christians into being a bunch of pagans to allow for his extramarital affairs and dalliances with porn stars.
