I don't think I said he shouldn't. I just said education, in the sense of more frequent and better public messaging and convincing methods like a condom and perhaps a ring. There are ways if you want to protect yourself that it can happen without huge costs. It's the woman's body who has to carry the child. The man provides the seed and I agree that it's both of their responsibility and the methods in the link I presented can be had cost effectively. It just takes a bit of planning and that's where education comes into play. Would you give the man in the relationship any say over the abortion of their child, let's say if he wanted to keep the baby and she did not? I think this would also be in the low % of cases that it's probably a moot point.

Vasectomy reversibility is a lot more limited than some think - the longer one waits and older one gets, the lower the rate of success. If you wait ten years, whether or not you'll be able to produce children after reversal is basically a coinflip.

Given the high failure rate of reversals, I don't think vasectomies should be compared to other less permanent forms of birth control like a condom, the Pill or an IUD.
