Anyone knows the tracking scene? I'm a tracker myself. If you know what Modplug tracker, fasttracker or impulse tracker are you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, lots of free music of any genre. http://www.modarchive.com http://www.modplug.com
Is this some sort of secret society? If not, why not help educate the uninitiated. I'm open to new things.
Trackers are people who make music using a tracker (a program in which you can arrange notes, which are linked to samples or instruments) to make music. Trackers are a bit outdated, certainly with the more advanced music making software that is available these days (not Magix though ) but they're usually free. There is a group of people who still try to keep actual trackers alive by making more advanced trackers. But IMO stuff like rebirth and fruityloops usually does allow people to make better sounding music. Sardinia, what kind of music do you make? free music by (mostly Dutch) fruityloops users (pretty hi-quality, except for my tracks ): http://www.exploitation.nl/tracks.asp?query=0 http://www.exploitation.nl/download.asp?tracknr=619 My noise (270 BPM, not really my thing but still...)
I made classical, psychedelic rock, prog rock, minimalistic music with (sometimes) electronic contaminations. All is made with PC, a prog and digital samples, no live playing of any real instrument. Some of my stuff (remember it's a hobby). http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/cameo.mp3 http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/celestial_mechanics.mp3 http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/Murmtruths.mp3 http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/O_tempora_o_mores.mp3 http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/penelope_weaving.mp3 http://space.tin.it/io/itcorda/Sardinia.mp3
