    OMG...West Brom doing the great escape, if they can somehow beat Liverpool and then Blackburn...i think they can stay up...:eek:

    Hull is rubbish despite what they done in the 1st half of the season, at the moment, i believe the only way they can win now is to bribe the ref or the opposing team...:rolleyes:

    Blackburn and Stokie are both safe now...Sunderland are 5 pts clear, meaning New and Boro needs at least 2 out of 3 wins to overtake them...

    Newcastle won 3-1 and this probably more or less seal Boro fate. With that win, they can now control their own fate as they have a better GD than Hull and Sunderland. Win their last 2 games and they survive to fight another season in the top flight.

    :D

    Problem is I can't see Hull getting any more than 1 more point, so Toon don't have to win. Jumhed jinxed it.

    The fat lady hasn't sung yet.

    I was searching through my old posts and found some classics;

    'Gross should've been given more time'
    'Aw, give Pleat the job'
    and;
    'I hate racists, but I hate Italians more.'

    Several years of spouting BS. I am ashamed.

    ManU has to wrap up the title this week. That way (a) they'll be playing reserves vs. Hull on the last day (b) we'll have more of a chance vs. Liverpool.

    what is the most desirable result for this weekends Newcastle v. Fulham game? Fulham loss or draw would be best for spurs, so i gotta go with that even if it means newcastle staying up...

    hulll city have taken a point from bolton at the reebok.

    newcastle now reside in the drop zone, needing to get something from villa away in order to survive. the possibility is very real.

    16) S'land - 36 points - -17 GD
    17) Hull - 35 points - -24 GD
    18) N'castle - 34 points - -18 GD
    19) M'boro - 32 points - -28 GD
    20) WBA - 31 points - -29 GD

    Remaining Fixtures

    Portsmouth v Sunderland
    West Brom v Liverpool

    Sunderland v Chelsea
    Hull v Man Utd
    Aston Villa v Newcastle

    No matter what, Newcastle do not have fate in their own hands now.

    If Hull draw, they need a win.
    If Hull win, they are gone.
    If Hull lose, they just need a draw.

    As for Sunderland, Portsmouth who is safe now can do a 'favour' by letting Sunderland win leaving only Hull and Newcastle to fight it out.

    Villa will play their first team, they will want 5th place.

    ManYoo will rest a few with the CL final in mind but their squad is so strong now anyway.

    I don't know that it makes much difference as ManYoo will still have strong players looking to impress for the CL final. Granted that some big names are rested though. However, I heard that the other clubs that might be relegated might sue them in court . . . but I really can't see it sticking because ManYoo would have still played a team and because it might be weaker than usual does not mean than they are intentionally trying to sabotage the game when it is the Champions league Final that they focusing on. Too much, these things have been happening for years.
