In your video you say the Gilberto incident deserved a red card and a penalty.....while it seems clear it was a foul....and likely a red card offense.....you can't actually award a penalty 10 yards outside the box.

Not sure how it could go from making $7 million last year with an average crowd of 18.5 to losing $13 million this year with 22.5 per game.

Let's say those extra 4k seats sell for an average of $30 (which is probably low)...that is $120k more in revenue (not including what they might eat/drink/buy) per game......so to lose $13 million, they would have burned through that extra $2mil in revenue + last year's $7 mil in profits + $13 million? so a $22 million swing in expenses?

I think that is only possible if you expensed the transfer fees paid for Bradley and Defoe in year one (normally a team/business would amortize those over the life of the contracts)....if you are going to do that then you have to also book some sort of value for the contract as a gain (perfect example, expensing the $10 million reportedly paid for Defoe would also result in some recognition that the player has some sale value against that...as we saw yesterday, that value appears to be $11 million....so booking the entire Defoe contract in year one would actually result in a gain/profit of $1 million.).

They may have negative cash flow in this year of $13 million....but I can't see how they have a loss of that much.

    You’ve Been ‘Gantared’

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/youve-been-gantared/

My video look back a frustrating night for Toronto FC in Columbus on Saturday evening that saw the Reds lose their first game of the season 2-0.

In this post I take a look at another referee gaffe that went a long way to ruining the game, the superior talent of the Atomic Ant and the strong season to date for keeper Joe Bendik. I also take a look at how a single game can change how we are perceiving the job that Greg Vanney is doing so far, particularly on the defensive side of things plus I ask if Michael Bradley’s talents are being used the right way.

Seba Shines & Two Clean Sheets!

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/roadtrip/

Sebastian Giovinco found a way to score a spectacular free kick and the TFC defence secured another clean sheet as the season starting MLS road tip ended with a 1-0 Toronto FC victory. In this post game video blog I take a look back at the road trip overall and try to take away some of of the things we have learned about this club so far in 2015. I also take a look ahead at the little matter of the Voyageurs Cup tie this Wednesday against Montreal. And I throw out a crazy stat about the Reds and clean sheets.

TFC Snatch a Point in Boston

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/tfc-snatch-a-point-in-boston/

Five games. Five Points. Five Goals Scored. Five Goals Conceded.

With three games remaining in the road trip before BMO Field opens for business Toronto FC finds itself for once on the better end of blown referee calls. In this post game video blog I take a look back at the refeering decisions, the use of the 4-4-2 and I heap praise upon my Man of the Match – Clint Irwin.

For Whom The Bell Does NOT Toll

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/for-whom-the-bell-does-not-toll/

Time for some early season rejoicing as Tim comes to terms with the fact that Toronto FC is currently the BEST defending club in all of MLS. We also look at the Derby result, hand out a bravery award to Greg Vanney, take a look ahead to Portland (14 pts anyone?) and we weigh in again on BMO Field security measures.

    Raising The Roof

    http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/raising-the-roof/

Toronto FC finally kicked off the home portion of their 2016 campaign with a solid 1-0 victory Saturday vs FC Dallas.

In this post game video blog I take a look at the roof and how it impacts the game day experience in the South end of BMO Field, I take a another look at the continuing defensive solidity the Reds are showing (this time against one of the better offensive clubs in MLS in FC Dallas), I anoint Jozy Altidore as my Man of The Match & I end off with celebratory video from the stands.
