Weren’t you one of those voices shaming those of us who, based on the lack of action in transfer windows, were worried that we’d wind up exactly in the predicament we’re in??
A lot of us predicted the team finishing around 7th place. Its a little wild how we got here though. We thought we'd not do well in the beginning and then come out firing after the summer transfer window. We did the inverse. We juiced the physical and mental well being of the players in the beginning of the season, and now they are exhausted and a little annoyed with each other, like an understaffed and underfunded office.
#Crew96 Wilfried Nancy said the substitution for Steven Moreira was planned at halftime because he "was not feeling well"Nancy clarified that Moreira was just not feeling well, rather than had an injury of any kind— Brianna Mac Kay (@brimackay15) September 18, 2025
Why was Lassi not on the bench last night but not in the injury report? Feels like thats been the case several times this year. We had two goalkeepers on the bench last night
Herrera yet again falling asleep at the back post for their first. Abou Ali had great technique on his goal, to generate enough power and precision while falling backwards. For their equalizer not sure how Ruvalcaba was left marking two on the back post, yes weak from Schulte but someone was not tracking back on the right. Again the "professionalism" was missing last night. Leaving with a point would have been palatable but we need to embrace the dark arts more if we want to stop conceding late. Taking a yellow for the team, slowing the game down, drawing fouls in the middle of the pitch.
Post-game, Nancy said someone should have taken the foul. On the second goal, wonder if schulte got scared of running into the post. Looked like he went into a bit of self preservation
I feel like there's been a few games this season where we've had two GKs on the bench just to have enough bodies to fill it out. Sometimes even with some crew2 callups.
This has been a problem for more than this season. The FO and Nancy have butchered this roster since Bez Left. Time for a change.
The Columbus Crew defense is plain old not good. That said, I think it's a bit harsh to call the team "a bunch of losers."
Agreed, they are just a team that overachieved at the start of the season and are just now starting to return to their actual level. Tall/Nancy wanted a smaller team and didn't sign anyone to replace Rudy, even at the second window when it was known he would be out for a long time. The team gambled on no injuries, lost that gamble, and what is happening is to be expected with our roster. Added bonus is that the lack of depth and injuries on the backline have made Schulte seem to lose all his confidence as well, so that is neat.
In a vacuum, that wasn't a terrible result. Losing away to a top 3rd-ish team on the road, and one with a home field advantage. But taken in light of the form of the team since coming out of Leagues Cup, this is a kick in the gonads.
Is it confidence with Schulte? It feels like he is just really unathletic/slow all of a sudden. Makes me think hes still hurt. Watching him dive vs watching freese dive is like watching two different sports.
Fair point. Something doesn't seem right with him. I'm not in "get rid of Schulte" mindset, but the guy needs the offseason. He turns 25 in March, which is still fairly young for a starting GK. Could just be a slump he will work through. At least, I hope.
Anyone know how to get through this error when logging into my Crew account manager/ticket master account to try and get my tickets for tomorrow: I've done what was asked, used a different device, network, though I didn't go anywhere to change my location.
Clear cache, get off wifi if youre on your phone, and maybe try incognito. When I was a student at OSU, id get a similar loading screen until I did that and got off the wifi
