At some point, you have to become pragmatic. With Rossi out, a 4-4-2 on defense, with a traditional 3-2-2-3 attacking shape makes sense. Put max on the wing and leave another man back to defend. And get these guys to talk to each other.

Trajectory of this team feels very much like Ohio State basketball near the end of the Thad Matta era. For those who don't know the reference:

Feels like this version of the Crew is at 2014 in that timeline. OSU basketball has never recovered from that extended stretch of mediocre to bad either.

A lot of people wanted to ignore the elephant in the room that this team has been on a steep decline since selling Aidan last year and then not making any meaningful acquisitions in the 2024 summer window. This was all predicable and preventable.
