No the College World Series is played at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. The NBC Tournament is an amateur tournament held every summer in Wichita. If they would replace the astroturf with natural grass, the park itself is actually fairly nice for a minor league park. Here is a view from the outfield.
Hey AFL, your post a while--the one with the roadwork--back reminded me of something. Every time my wife and I are around Cleveland, we see roadsigns with a couple of letters and a red bar through them. I can't remember what the letters are, but they didn't seem to correspond to anything. "No KL" or "No HK" or something. Are these in Cincy, too? What in the hell do they mean?
They're probably trucker warnings like No HC (no hazerdous cargo) or other type signs like that. If there's like blasting going on sometimes they reroud certain trucks that carry certain materials around the blasting zones for verious reasons. But I don't know exactly what those particular letters listed mean.
actually, both of those photos were taken in birmingham - i didn't mean to imply the crimson tide specifically, just the rivalry that dominates discussion in that town
et's easy...this is probably the most photographed thing in the entire state, Portland Head Light ...though its not even actually in Portland. to me the real symbol of the city, thyough, is the Old Port, where I live...
I think that's what they were--"No HC." Makes sense now. I've never seen those anywhere outside of Cleveland.
The capitol building is the most photographed thing in our town. Although our claim to fame is being the smallest state capital and being the only state capital without a McDonalds (although there is one just over the border in the neighboring town).
Boulder, CO Since I'm in DC now and it's been done, I'll go to my spiritual home. The place I went to college and the place that gives me energy every time I visit. And hey, I grew up in Denver, it's all the same metro area. Of course, there's this too... Ugh, the juxtaposition of natural and prostituted beauty that defines Boulder.
While most people who think of DC imagine this... personally, I can't get away from thinking of this...
Where I live now? William Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, and Robert the Bruce at the Castle looking toward Wallace's Monument.
My hometown? Well, for out-of-towners, the symbol of the city must be him: But for those that have lived there any reasonable amount of time, it's this: For those that don't know, this - converted into office space in Millcreek Park, in my hometown, is one example of a Futuro...yeah, maybe better to stick with Carl Lewis and the undeniable truth of our track and field program...
Carl Lewis STILL holds the state long jump record. This site pretty much covers my weird homeland: www.weirdnj.com
