I work for listen.com and have the pleasure of sending fellow employees playlists that we make on Rhapsody. Yesterday someone started a "summer" theme. The songs don't necessarily have to be about sunlight, summer, etc, etc...but can just remind you of the season. Anyone else care to add??

    Here's mine...

"Sitting In The Park" - Alton & Hortense Ellis
"Northern Lites" - Super Furry Animals
"The Good Humor Man He Sees Everything Like This" - Love
"Part 2 (It's The Sun)" - The Polyphonic Spree
    "Leafy Mysteries" - Paul Weller
    "Summertime" - The Zombies
"Hot Fun In The Summertime" - Sly & The Family Stone
    "Wow And Flutter" - Stereolab
    "Sunny Afternoon" - The Kinks

I can't not think of summer when I hear Len's "Steal My Sunshine".

That's a great call. I like "I'm Always In Love" by Wilco.

    Definately.

"Smile" by Pearl Jam is a total summer song for me though I don't know why.

Also summer is the only three months of the year where my Smith's and Morrissey discs go off heavy rotation. hmmm.

I can't believe I forgot "Summer Sun" by Koop. A must for this list.

    Alex_1's Playlist

I sometimes am known as a 'black market' dj myself. No kidding actually - people ask me about cuts, etc and where to find them + vinyls. This spring I put together a playlist more themed towards the summer titled "Beach Bossa". If you like it latin you have to like some of these cuts. A distinct Brazilian flair to the cd. And no, it is not the sort of "latin" with DOminican like Merengue. Not like the "horns", fast salsa like stuff. Good bossa, laid back, cool latin/Brazilian vibes.

    1: Zimpala: "To the Bass"
    2: BossaCucaNova: "Rio"
    3: Nicola Conte: Forma 2000
4: Nicola Conte: il Cerchio Rosso
    5: Gerardo Frisina: Fiera
    6: Stereolab: One Note Samba
7: Yoshinori Sunahara: Sun Song 70' (Bossa Remix)
    8: Cidade Grande: Rua Escondida
9: S-Tone Inc.: Arejar (Soulstance Remix)
10: Minus 8: At The Beach
    11: Rosalia De Souza: Ipanema
    12: Patricia Marx: Submerso
    13: Marcos Valle: On Line
14: Marcos Valle: Apaixonada Por Voce
    15: Concao Trio: Batucada Express
    16: Tom & Joyce: Bonito

Some cuts I admit are cheesy - but never are they really put down. I like this genre - if you want more info (what CD's their on, etc.) let me know.
